mikefromarizona wrote: I was talking about my own snarkyness. It's not shit talking the Fest, it's expressing disappointment. Samiam < Small Brown Bike or Leatherface to a lot of people. Some of them probably would have been unsatisfied by anything short of a Jawbreaker reunion, but that doesn't make them less entitled to bitch about it, or anything else. If the Ergs were headlining, I'd be throwing a shit fit to high heaven. Does that make me an asshole for raining on the parade of others? Debatable. But I would be entitled to my opinion, and it's just foolish to go calling out other people for having one. This isn't a breeding ground for positivity, or anything else, except music. Last I checked, this is punk rock, and none of us make the rules. I still fail to see where you think me having an opinion is trying to make the rules. You just agree with the guy cause you don't like Samiam. If you didn't I doubt you'd be this adamant about it. Punk is about community and positivity, the Fest is a positive vibe and I think it's fucked up for anyone to try and bring it down. Other people have expressed their thoughts about this person too, why pick on me only? I am a very passionate person about this music. It's my life. When I see something that I think is fucked up and ruining of my community, I say it. Sorry if you think that's me trying to make rules. gully - I can't tell if your last post was a sarcastic jab at me or not. If it was, then I'm sorry that punk rock is more than just entertainment for me. I can't imagine I'm the only Fest-goer that feels this way.

will be skipping samiam. though, i hope they announce screeching weasel as playing the same time lol.
im pretty pumped about the band list, though a little disappointed by the headliners. although, in my 3 previous years at the Fest, i've never been too pumped about any of the headliners.
either way, the Fest is awesome, the dudes bust their asses to do this, and that's awesome.
bought my ticket this morning.

I can't imagine I'm the only Fest-goer that feels this way. No way. I just don't want any fighting in my Festing. The place has a long standing tradition of people getting along and if that ever changed I would hang up my Fest boots. If the punks can't get along then who can?

i wish they would book a band that EVERYBODY is DYING to see. A band that EVERYBODY is so pumped about, that they totally plan on getting to the venue early, waiiting in line, and seeing this band. I'm talking EVERYBODY that bought a ticket is planning on seeing this band.
Then when the venue fills up, a bunch of people walk away all bummed because they can't get it in and see their favorite band.
That would be lol to see so many ppl so bummed.

also, this Fest radio is awesome. I kind of took it as a round bout way of saying if everyone was into the same things that it would suck. But I should've just figured it was just you being an ass. When are we going to mash some pussies?

Obvious grinch is obvious, I guess. oh i thought he was saying that he thought the reason ticket prices are $10 more this year is because Samiam is playing, but I think I interpreted the post wrong. I'm not all that familiar with Samiam, so I might watch them if no one I know better is playing at the same time but otherwise I am indifferent

I guess Fest is 60% friends and 40% bands for me. Maybe I'm too easy to please or maybe its easy for me to say that b/c I live here and don't have to spend $$ on travel and ish.
Btw - Saw Samiam with HWM twice last year. Didn't rock my socks, but I also didn't start a thread knockin them.
For funsies, I'm creating a spreadsheet of people who say they can't stand X band and if I see them at their show, I'm going to hogtie them and have that band piss on them between sets.
