Are there fridges in the Holiday Inn? I like cereal and milk.

Only in the executive rooms which I think is the 4th and maybe one other floor. We discovered that by accident when we booked independently of No Idea for Fest 6 and found only people on our floor had fridges and microwaves. I suspect they'll take them out altogether this year though.

Well you get an ice bucket that's so small it could used as a koozie! Of course it can be used to fill up the sink/tub with ice though so problem solved!

Last year I stayed at a lady's house off of SW 2nd, past Publix, next to this Cuban restaurant. Anybody have a clue where I'm talking about? It was free, but man it was much further than I thought from the activities. More than fifteen blocks away from the Holiday Inn. Pre-fest night I walked to 1982 and dragged all the way back, drunk. After that, it was buses and taxis. The latter ended up costing a bit after my weekend was done. So I'm trying to get as snug in the middle of everything as possible this year.

yeah it comes in handy to be real close. I actually didn't end up doing that much partying at the hotel last year. It was all out and about. maybe this year, who knows.

Just booked a room at The Paramount.
Stayed there for Fest 6. It was nice, just kinda far from everything. $170 for the Holiday inn is too pricey for us. Plus we are old and like to sleep.
Stoked!

The official Fest hotel was ridiculously strict last year. I was thrown out of the place several times even though I was staying there. I had to let one of the security guys escort me by the arm to reception to prove I had a room booked there!
I don't like the idea that they have even more security booked, but even though the price is pretty steep I'm still tempted to stay there. Hopefully it won't sell out too quickly!
Decisions, Decisions, I just don't know what to do!

I'm staying in the Holiday Inn this year. I did last year too. It was weird seeing dudes with guns but I never had any trouble when wandering around the hotel. Also, I didn't find it hard to sleep once I wanted to sleep.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn just for the last night of last year's Fest and was part of the infamous "trapped in an elevator at 230AM" crew... I think that happened another night there.
I didn't notice any private security, but there was definitely a bunch of cops outside the lobby hassling all the drunk dudes who were outside smoking.
Still don't know if I can afford to make it to Fest this year, but I'm considering just winging it with no hotel room.

I think you'll probably find those cops were the private security!
