I know lots of people ask about vegan options in gainesville. My FAVE places to eat are:

The Reggae Shack! newly renovated! Jamaican Food! Mon! and they added A LOT more to their menu, including way more vegan foodies that are excellente. I always get the curry tempeh or vegan steak. They also have vegan smoothies and vegan carrot cake! :D

Also, Warren from Against Me opened up a stellar texmex (I mean, I guess that's what you'd call it) place with some other rad people called Boca Fiesta. I went there today and enjoyed vegan queso and a tempeh burrito, but they have a few more vegan foodies.

Buddha Belly is awesome, but it's not really downtown. Here's a menu http://www.buddhabelly.us/buddhabelly/bb_index.html

And as always there's the Top, which I haven't been to in ages.

Reggae Shack is definitely the place to go. I think I've been there 3 times since they reopened. Not including when they had their "practice" reopening. Curried tempeh is the best foodz ever.

Where's this Boca Fiesta place though? Sounds awesome.

It's by the Hippodrome/SE 1st St! It has a really awesome bar too

For you old schoolers, same place as the Hardback, right next to the Hippodrome. (Opposite of the Sun center).
