Hi folks. In the near future I'm finally going to start doing some maintenance/upgrading to this board. The board will also be moving to a different server so hopefully those annoying mysql errors will go away.

I'm going to have to disable the board at times to get this stuff done. So, if the board is disabled, don't freak out, it will be back soon.

After all this is done I'll probably re-arrange the forums a bit since Fest talk has died down and now it's mostly general discussion going on. Let me know if you have any opinions on this.

I vote we close the House Shows, Travelling, and Fest 7 Main Forum.

Keep Fest Rants, While In Gainessville, and of course Misc.

A few threads from Fest 7 Main Forum could be moved to Fest Rants.

On Philip's que I started to move stuff from THE Fest 7 MAIN FORUM to Fest Rants but it just isn't that cut and dry. So I moved nothing.

Instead: if all of the THE Fest 7 MAIN FORUM and Fest Rants threads were combined and changed to one called Fest 7 Rants, that would be an easy fix. Then if those threads in the THE Fest 7 MAIN FORUM that are actually about Fest 8 are moved to a new thread called Fest 8 Rants that would work perfect. Or something similar.

Yes, I think the Misc and While in Gville threads should stay active as well. The Gville Shows thread is fairly active and I'm hoping more Festers will meet this way before Fest 8.

People can use all the info in While In Gainesville and Traveling to The Fest to plan for Fest 8 better as far as travel, finances and lodging goes... even if Traveling to The Fest is locked down.

So yes, Traveling to The Fest and House shows could be locked. I see no reason to keep them open.

if we have to pick a rule about which "Fest 7 Main Forum" threads to move, how about al the ones that have been posted in sometime after The Fest. A few of those are fairly dead, but it's a pretty clear line. I don't like the idea of combining the entire "Fest 7 Main Forum" with "Fest Rants" and it's a bit early to have a whole seperate section for Fest 8. I figure that would happen once the artwork comes out.

Yeah, this may work too. But then there will be two Fest 7 sub-forums and there still needs to be a Fest 8 one. Otherwise, where will all the the Fest 8 topics that are mostly repeats from Fest 7 threads go?

I'm getting confused at the thought of it. There is likely an easier answer than both of our suggestions. I'll probably think of it while I'm asleep.

I think the Fest 7 main one and Fest rants one might aswell just be one thing, Fest is Fest.

Travelling to Fest should stay unlocked for festers-international because soon we'll all be talking air fares again. And I was hoping that this year we could arrange to fly together in bigger groups and there won't be anyone doing the long haul on their own.

Maybe house shows could just get locked because it's only going to fill up with spam.

It doesn't really need to be organised though does it? It's just random chit chat at the moment, and it doesn't need to be productive in any way. If people want to find stuff out then thats what the FAQ is for. I like the random web of nonsense on here

Yep some good points right there. We should totally try and get some big groups together next year. Long haul on my own was the pits.
Weirdly by chance I was on the same plane as some guys I ended up being proper good mates with once Fest got goin.
I actually can't believe I'm talking about next Fest already. Awesome!

It's never too early . Alex flew on his own too. I flew with Frag but we met some other festers by chance at the departure gate at Gatwick. Next year though, we fly together. There'll be half a plane-full of festers making the most of the complimentary Heineken, as one haha
