I love where this has gone.
"The Fest takes place each year on the 50 yard line of the Florida-Georgia football game, held in Jacksonville, so downtown Gainesville is left almost entirely to the swarms of locusts devouring anything and everything in the city."

Does anyone know who runs the entry, or why they keep obsessively correcting it as though it were the defaced page of MLK jr or something???

It must be someone on the forum, or at least someone that lurks the forum unless they have it on their bookmarks and check it every couple hours...

I've learned threw other wikipedia pages I've tried to inject lies into that some people get their kicks from editing wiki pages, even if they know absolutely nothing about the topic at all if you try to inject some obviously fake stuff they get all antsy and change it
or it could be some random person who doesn't post here and doesn't enjoy fun lies about The Fest

I don't think that Russ understands the intimate connection between punk rock and vandalism.

I never actually figured out what to do. I just think maybe if everyone takes the time to add a sentence during Thanksgiving, maybe they won't catch it?
It's like two minutes of your time, and you can think about dudes like me that don't have a family while you take the break from the turkey to vandalize Wiki, which might even make you feel better about your family having asparagus in their teeth and caring too much about the Lions game.

there is a page of wikipedia called "recent edits' and there are people who watch it like a ahwk and investigate it. The bigger the edit is, or the more one entry is edited in a short timespan, and the more one IP address edits it, the more likely it is to get noticed.
Best bet for getting The Fest entry to stay changed is this-
We work out the entire entry, or close to it, on this thread beforehand. Then we shange just a couple lines at a time, spacing the edits out at least several hours, and getting a different person to make the change each time.
A lot of work just for an in-joke.

Ok, I just changed "3000" to "5000", which is actually a "constructive" edit. Let's see if they kill it just cause of my IP address.

I just realized that you can read all of the previous edits on the history page. Pretty fun.
