I can already see how this will go
"The Fest is a cash cow sponsored by Hot Topic, GE and Child Sweatshops. Tony doesn't pay any of the bands and uses all the money collected to go into a drunken coma for the other 362 days a year"

Well, I'm certainly not going to do it, so I think Josh should have to.

"Of the roster of 200 or so bands, only about 30 people make up the actual performing contingent."

It has since changed ever so slightly:
"The Fest is a cash cow sponsored by No Idea Records and, among others, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Alternative Press, Leonardo's Pizza by the Slice and the Multi-nation conglomerate: Punknews.org. Tony doesn't pay any of the bands and uses all the money collected to go into a drunken coma for the other 362 days a year."

"It is a haven for those that enjoy drinking copious amounts of beer, watching punk rock bands, creating Fest connections with people from around the country and world, and unsuccessfully trying to have Fest sex."

I had already authored this entire paragraph before this thread even started-
"The Fest is also known for hosting many unofficial house shows, and for booking the entire Holiday Inn near the University of Florida. The Fest takes place each year on the weekend of the Florida-Georgia football game, held in Jacksonville, so downtown Gainesville is left almost entirely to the over 3000 people attending and performing at The Fest."
and I just added this-
"The Fest is regarded by many across both the US and Europe as a sort of annual pilgrimage, to appease the Gods of Punk Rock. And yet most Gainesville residents, both full-time and students, either know nothing of its existence, or regard it merely as "that thing where Less Than Jake is playing." The only non-punk Gainesville locals that appreciate The Fest are the mom and pop restaurants that see an enormous increase in business that weekend."
hopefully the people who take wikipedia really seriously won't change too much of it.

We should all just feed misinformation and lies into the entry to deter people from going and keep it as our little awesome secret.
Y'know, like what we tried and failed to do with punk.

Yeah totally!
All I can think of now is the No Idea house being used as a basis for a Godfather-esque Mafia documentary. Ha!
Now y'all keep it shut ya hear.
