Thank you, this was EXACTLY my point. 8)

And:

if I ever meet a guy that is a perfect mix on Lloyd Dobler, Lane Meyer and Rob Gordon you guys may never hear from me again.

you need a little bit of Martin Q. Blank also, just in case you need to take someone out who's messing with you

Haha, true. I'd really like a bit of sneaky Joey Coyle as well (a little obscure Cusack.)

okok, sorry for picking john cusack as my scapegoat! should have just said vanilla ice!

Use the force behind the "copyright" stamp. You actually have to copyright it, though.

this month i have nature, food, business and one environmental portrait published.

astute examination? ha, i guess that sounds right. seems generic, though. like saying "you enjoy friendship and like to travel". um.. yeah, who doesn't?

I try not to talk to much about my 80s movie teenage crushes. Because REAL guys feel it is hard to live up to it. I had an ex that would get so mad and say, "You'll never find that perfect 80s movie guy!", when he was being a total asshole. Would really bum me out because I'm such a hopeless romantic.

I put a whole slew of contact/copyright info on most of my work online and make it so you can't just grab stuff off my flickr. Doesn't seem to stop everyone from ripping me off.

Environmental portrait? You mean like landscapes or like a person posing outdoors. Food photography is really hard sometimes. I'm impressed you do that.

Apparently you are also: observant, investigative, thorough, overanalytical, stifling and obscure. Weird descriptions I know. Straight out of a book. :?

i go to shows or hang out at the atlantic, common grounds and the top quite often. if i'm at home, i'm either listening to records, posting on some message board (this one a lot since i moved to gville), or playing video games (fifa 08 or nhl 09: dynasty mode!)... oh yea i watch a lot of it's always sunny in philadelphia, futurama and the simpsons...

for work i'm a substitute teacher and a bookstore clerk on the side... me and my roommate have been trying to get a new band going for the last 2 months, so maybe we'll have it going by 2009 ?

hmm john cusack is hit or miss with me; high fidelity THUMBS UP!

i feel like i just re-introduced myself....

This is awesome! I start a thread, and people talk about John Cusack movies. Haha. I just watched High Fidelity the other night. It's one of my favorite movies. Figured it would help me out with an odd romantic position I'm finding myself in right now...

It didn't. At all!

To elaborate on my answer...I also love pretending I'm good at photography, and trying to come up with and stay on track on experimental film projects (mostly for school.) My latest one, involves different kinds of crystalized substances ray-o-gramed on film and slowed down or stopped...haven't gotten very far yet! I also like to read comics books, go out to the bar with friends when I can, watch TV shows on the internet, play at learning electronics (mostly circuit bending), and working on bicycles with my roommates. Mostly I've just been playing a lot of Fallout 3 recently...I've got crazy ADD, and I'm super lazy to boot!

I'm an aquarius. And I like long bike rides along the beach...haha...no, really.

Food photography is hard as crap. It's hard to make it not look like mushy gray nasty grossness because, well, restaurants don't make food that looks like what's actually on the menu. no vindication, though, i feel for the guys making the food, make it taste good and when you are a 3/4 star place, start thinking about impressing the uppity folks with cool garnishees and such.

environmental portrait is neither landscape nor strictly of a person outdoors

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_portrait

it's a stupid title, I know. it's a picture of someone at work. ie in their 'environment'

my website is all flash, but if you're sleuthy enough you could find it other places on the interweb. i really *really* am not good enough for people to rip me off seriously, but I do find my stuff random places. sometimes i'm flattered, sometimes i pity the theiving souls. rarely get mad, and haven't taken any action against it. like some russian Tshirt company used a line-art conversion of one of my pictures. it was awesome! i dont publicise enough to get ripped off. i don't need no stinkin fame.

I think that classifies as either hiking or an "adventure." But, I'm right there with ya!

on the topic of John Cusack, i'm dissapointed that no one mentioned Ivan Alexeev from Tapeheads.

oh yeah, while not Festing, I also love to play with my dog, and take him to the park, at least until he starts picking on dogs 4 times his size.

I should start getting paychecks again soon, so I might actually have enough money to have a life, but I still have a ton of schoolwork and have to be at work at 7:00 AM every day, so while I'd love learn and instrument and/or start a band, that might have to wait until next semester.

And this is where I suggest Better Off Dead instead. Anytime I'm a little down about a relationship I watch it and it works every time. :D For the most part High Fidelity is a relationship bummer and a little to real to help me out. I need burgers and fries rocking out to Van Halen!

In case you don't remember that scene:

Yeah, food photography is hard because you can't lie when showing what you get. That's the standard rule anyway. But you know it is Elmer's glue instead of milk on cereal boxes and those fast food places stuff look much better than what you get.

OK, I've done environmental portraits plenty of times. Especially of the scientists and research crew at work (USGS). UF is all about environmental portraits too. I know that's just about all the IFAS photographers shoot.

food preppers from those food shots make a good amount of money, my teacher always has this story for one shoot he did involving some pizza company and how much stuff the lady had to bring just to make the pizza look good on camera

I've shot food -- bbq of all things. And vegan food for a cookbook.

Its hard to make meat look appetizing for sure! It was a good challenge, but I'm glad its not part of my regular job.
