Same guys were tattooing in the registration area. They just to happened to work security at the Fest this and last year too. But after the mace incident they refused to work security anymore and I imagine they won't be next year either. Mace incident?!?

Anthem guys saved my life a time or two during Paint It Black. Once, I had most of my weight on my neck sideways on stage, but part of me was still stuck in the crowd, so I couldn't roll away, and an anthem guy pulled on my leg, allowing me to do like a handspring and get rightside up. AND they still let me stage dive right after that.

Coming from somewhere where if your feet so much as leave the venue floor security grabs you and tosses you out the door, I was so happy to see a security team so liberal with crowd surfing and stage diving. I really think they did an amazing job all around! Milwaukee has such asshole security guys at the bigger venues...er...venue. and I don't go there anyways, but still!

So, I totally saw you several times over the weekend, but every time I went over to speak, you vanished into thin air. It was pretty amazing. How do you do that?

Worst moments of Fest for this first time boarder, second time FESTer:
-Some scum bag fuck head spitting on me at Common Grounds and me not being able to catch them doing it.
-Having the worst cold of my life for the entire weekend.
-Every time we rolled into a house party, the band we intended on watching was finishing (Fake Problems, Star Fucking Hipsters, Andrew Jackson Jihad). That's right. THREE times this happened. Still had fun though.
-Staying at Rush Lake. (Why didn't anyone stay at Gainesville Lodge? That seemed like the perfect spot.)
-Driving around FOREVER looking for the warehouse shows and eventually GIVING UP (?!) Am I just stupid or something?
Other than that, everything was A-OK

gainesville lodge is not fest-er friendly since the Fest 3 or 4 a bunch of people were caught jumping off the roof and other non-sense. from what i've heard they'll cancel your reservation if you're fester kind of person

That sucks. It's THE prime location. Step out of your door and there you are. Venue to the right and 1982 to the left.

We tried to stay there Fest 4 I think, when we called to get the room they asked us if we'd be attending the Fest, and when we said yes, they said we'd have to look somewhere else. Def not a Fest friendly hotel.

Best:
-Municipal Waste and their free shots
-Off With Their Heads and their stage banter
-The Party Gator during the Ergs! (My friends and I totally brought that)
-That Falaffel place near 1982
-The Days Inn
-The Japanese hibachi restaurant across the street from the hotel (wish I remembered the name, but it was goddamn amazing)
-The Andrew Jackson Jihad / Bridge & Tunnel / Jeff Rosenstock Sunday night hotel room show
-Not paying the extra to stay at the Holiday Inn (From everyone I talked to, it wasn't worth it at all this year)
-Starting the "I would walk 500 miles" song chant before Strike Anywhere
-Polar Bear Club
-Having a silver line jump wristband (I saw so many more bands b/c of it)
Worst:
-Walking for 45 minutes to find out Minus The Bear was at capacity a half hour before their set time and then being too far away to walk back and see anything
-Drinking too much, blacking out, and missing Less Than Jake, The Bouncing Souls, & the PIB parking lot show (song)
-Passing out in the parking garage behind the venue & waking up at 5am to realize I have to walk 2.5 miles back to the hotel.
-Smashing my head into something whilst blacked out and losing my favorite hat
-Not drinking enough on Saturday b/c I was exhausted
-Spicy Chipotle creating all sorts of hell in my stomach
-Missing all the warehouse shows b/c we didn't rent a car this year

Same shit here. Some assholes told me it was out past the highways, so West I went and missed Saturday night (but that did enable me to get tot he Treehouse show, which pwned. 6 bands & 0 cops). It was supposed to be 441 NORTH to 74th, which I got to Sunday night and that rocked.

I should be a fucking ninja. I even wore bright yellow all weekend so I'd be easier to find in crowds, and I still can't help but vanish.
