I keep hearing post Fest 7 rumors and want clarification. Please post yours here as well.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mine:
1) A security guy that worked for The Venue maced one of the Athem guys while they were working security for the Fest during a show. What show? Who? What the hell went down?
2) Also heard a rumor that I REALLY hope is bullshit about a death during Fest weekend where a drunk driver hit a drunk party goer crossing the street. Didn't see anything in the Gville news about it.
3) Friday I spent much of my day/night at 1982. At some point while I was shooting the show from the stage I saw a track-light hanging above the band (think it was ANS) get ripped out of ceiling by the audience. I talked to the singer later who told me that the venue cut him off at the bar and blamed it on him. I saw the whole thing, that was BS. There was nothing he could do about it. That venue is small with low ceilings, bound to happen. The rumor I kept hearing later on all during Fest is that Festers later that same night went nuts in general and "overtook the bar". I think this story was just an over elaboration of the light pull down story. Anyone there then during the last 3 bands? I was shooting over at Nelly's at that point.

Kid Dynamite reunion that didn't happen.
Crime in Stereo playing a house show since they were "on the PBC/Swellers/Broadway Calls tour, they're in Florida just not playing Fest". My friend who knows the guitarist Alex texted him to find out; Alex's reply: "I'm at a party in NYC so if we're playing, its without me".
On a more serious note, I really hope that death didn't happen. A Festgoer dying would bring down the entire weekend

I heard from a friend who is not a Fest type person that a friend of hers at Fest was in critical consdition. Too buzzed now to find out, but I'll try to get more info on that tomorrow.
I was really really hoping CIS might play a house show, but I heard a rumour that their tour manager (who I thought was Alex) pissed off one of the Fest organizeers. I know they skipped the tallahassee show.

when i was headed home sat night i saw alot of police cars outside wayward. i could see a car parked in the middle of the road with its lights off and alot of ems looking material on the roadside. i dont know but it was my opinion before hearing this rumor that it had indeed been a person hit by a car.
sat evening at market st. i saw the lead singer for look mexico getting carted out on a stretcher, i hope he is ok. i heard a few rumors that he fell down the stairs and that he was unresponsive. the ems guys said jokingly that he had got a splinter but he would be fine.
in a previous thread mackenzie mentioned someone getting a head injury during a show at the venue. i dont recall all the details but i dont think it was ever mentioned how he is currently doing.

I saw a guy get hit by a car while on his bike, but he was ok. I don't think it was Fest related, I see that shit in Tempe near ASU.
I really hope nothing too terrible happened.

This is VERY likely. A lot of people were running across there. You really have to watch out for people going to/from Checkers and Taco Bell right at that spot.

Wow. That's really scary. I did see fire trucks and such outside Market St. and I do remember that Matt (Look Mex vocalist) was REALLY drunk that day/night. I need to get in touch with those dudes and see if he's okay.

I just emailed Josh, drummer from Look Mexico and this is what he said:
"ha! Nah - he didn't fall down any stairs- he just got too drunk and the bar called the police and the police called an ambulance- but he was just wasted from free booze and some shots that folks bought him--- everything is fine- he was out the next morning without even getting a stomach pump- all's well! "
Phew, that's good to know at least one person wasn't seriously hurt.

I was at 1982 for the last three bands, it was totally chill. I think Mehkago NT made some silly attempt at the beginning of their set to convince everybody that the ripped out light socket was actually live and dangerous. I heard the bartenders snickering while this announcement was made, and it did not deter kids from walking on the ceiling during the show. I don't know what went down earlier in the evening, but it was all peace, love, and grindcore for the last three sets.

wow, i didn't hear that about Matt(Look Mexico). I was with him Saturday night, but we got seperated during the show. I really hope nothing too bad happened to him. He was pretty shitty that night.
