I've actually had the exact opposite experience.
A hundred million years ago when I was in high school, I was a crappy student; so crappy that I managed to have to go to summer school for all 4 years. I actually had to go to summer school for English AFTER SENIOR YEAR. (god, that's embarrassing.) Anyway, my summer school teacher was a young blond surf/beach type, probably about 23 years old. Not an airhead, but certainly not the typical high school teacher. I don't remember her name, I'll call her Miss Henderson.
Also during high school I worked at a 1200 capacity club that booked punk, metal, and what was then called "college rock." That's what Alternative Rock was called before 1991, which is what Indie was called before 2002. It basically covered anything that would have been relegated to MTV's 120 Minutes, if you have any idea what that was.
So this British band was playing one Sunday night during the summer after my senior year. The show started around 8, there were probably one or two opening bands, and the main band went on around 10 or 10:30. They probably played for about 75 minutes and were definitely off by midnight. We loaded their gear out, cleaned out the club patrons, and the band were still up in the dressing room hanging out and drinking. It was 1:30, and they show had sold out, so we let them hang out a bit longer. At 2:00 I was sent up to clear out the dressing room; the state liquor law wouldn't allow any drinking at all after 2.
So I get up there and the band and crew are hanging out with 3 or 4 young blond surf/beach types. There was my summer school English teacher in the corner, straddling the guitar player and making out like she was in an olympic competition. I made a general announcement that we had to clear out the room, and then just for good measure, added:
"That means everyone... even you, Miss Henderson. I'll see you in class in 6 hours."
When I got to class the next morning she kind of shot me a look saying "you're not going to tell everyone, are you?" I smirked and shook my head.

i saw another kid with a Fest Pass, surprisingly the red one that didn't last that long on a lot of people. I wonder how he would've felt if he found out Mr. M lost his first Fest pass stage diving....
the kid was also sporting a nice home-made Black Flag patch

Any Gville residents familiar with the band VIncent Valentine? their singer was a kid I subbed for. This was in 2002. Last year, he was opening for one of my favorite bands, and he was really excited to see me, and he told me what big influence I had been on him, to get involved more with music. WEIRD. but kinda cool.
yeah i know them! i did a show for them after last year's Fest.
