What everyone has said about the board is basically correct. I usually keep it up for about 2 months after the Fest is over then the usage kind of dies down and the spam picks up and it gets to be too much of a hassle to come on here everyday just to delete 30 spam posts. So, eventually I just lock it until steam picks up for the next Fest.
However, we have all these new sub-categories that seem to work really well. We've got a good reliable team of moderators that have been keeping the spam at bay. And, holy crap, look at the amount of posts this year: 6,482 total for the Fest 6 and over 18,500 for this year already. !! That's impressive! As long as usage continues and moderators keep helping out I don't see any reason to ever take it down. I usually change this board to reflect the current Fest so maybe in January I'll change it to the Fest Off Season board or something retarded like that. Anyways, thanks to everyone that has helped out and/or participated in this awesome message board. We all have the Fest leaking out of our ears here at the No Idea office so I've got to get back to work. See most of you Friday! |

yeah I think once the Fest passes just changing or removing some sub topics for the time being would keep this thing active, just make it a No-Idea/Gainesville/Fest board of sorts

Anyways, thanks to everyone that has helped out and/or participated in this awesome message board. We all have the Fest leaking out of our ears here at the No Idea office so I've got to get back to work. See most of you Friday! I like the Fest Off Season board idea. As Jeremy said, it would be No Idea/Gville/(Post) Fest related. I do agree with Jeremy that maybe some parts of the board should be locked down though. Or maybe better yet, add a new forum just for "Fest Off Season". That would be the easy fix. And because info will change from year to year... come Fest 8 a new board with the same forums at the Fest 7 board can begin. I've been happy to help, see you Friday!
