And that is a perfect example of why I never drink so much that I forget a show. PMFS and Baroness were a couple of my highlights last year too! Here is a reminder:

God, me too. They're playing here tomorrow, but it's $25 because fucking Opeth is headlining. I'm not sure whether I want to go or not. Baroness and high on fire rule really hard, but I can't stand Opeth.

I had never heard of that website, thought I'd check it out.... it took me less than five minutes to get a headache and be annoyed.
Q:
"Can a punk be a conservative?"
A:
"Yes, an extremely annoying and contrarian one."
In the interest of fairness, I am curious, though- did they still book Bad Brains shows in Europe after HR's homophobic comments in the Thrasher interview?

yes there was one Bad Brains show a while ago, but of course they are just big enough to find an agent or a show and of course some also just don't care about stuff like that
Meanwhile I guess it slowed down on DBL, but when Dave posted an artice there, it was at the time of the last election and when I remember right a planned DBL tour was cancelled...
especially in germany a lot of clubs who put up punkrock shows are squads, former now legalized squads, alternative youth centers and if maybe 1/3 of the clubs deny to book banad that size, you already have a problem to get the tour together... also another point is, alot of the germany agencys dealing with punkrock - came out of the old berlin squad and diy scene and are not illing to book a band / singer that supports Bush...
History: When berlin was divded in eat and west, all industry moved away, there was a high unemployment rate and the youth with a future pretty much moved to western germany... that was one of the reasons you don't had to do military service when you lived in western berlin in a certain age
so basicly in the 80s all punks/ hardcore kids with no future or who wanted to study moved from wetsern germany to berlin to avoid the military year, also it had one of the best scenes and housing was damn cheap and a lot of houses were just empty, never really renovated after world war II and just turned into squads.. several booking agencys developed from that time..
