How could I NOT share this!!!
Another message from Virgil Dickerson over at Suburban Home Records:
Suburban Home SHOTGUNATOR
If you are like me, you have at some point in the past been at a party when the idea comes up to shotgun a beer. More than likely, the puncturing of the can was done by one of the keys on your key chain and you probably spilled a fair share of beer on yourself. We at Suburban Home recognize this problem and want to offer you a product so clever, it will turn you into the hit at every party...the Suburban Home SHOTGUNATOR! Throw away that bottle opener on your key chain and replace it with this.
Not only will it open your beer bottles and help the fingernail-less out there to open a beer can, there is a triangular shaped portion on the SHOTGUNATOR that allows you to puncture a hole in your beer can with ease!
Check out some of the Suburban Home staff shotgunning beers on our Youtube Channel.
Suburban Home SHOTGUNATOR Videos
We plan to shotgun beers almost every day until the Fest comes up.

Suburban Home will definitely be getting my attention come day one of the Fest - i've got some records to buy, pick up that free LP they put out AND now one of these... the shark-bottle opener on my chain has been getting real dull anyway.

Holy shit.
I feel so kid-like that I've never shotgunned a beer. I want to do this as my first drink in Gainesville, about 11pm on tuesday night. Yes please.

Actually, I got it wrong.. Ruth and James aren't coming with us from Orlando, so we'll be in town for about 10pm. Think we'll decide on a place, and get that thurrrr shotgunning on the road!

Hrm, this shotgunning seems to be different from shotgunning in Glasgow. This looks more like our chugging to me. One of the best bits about Fest is learning about a different culture.

To quote one of the modern era's greatest thinkers, Mr Will Smith:

I may or may not have watched Independance Day when it was on TV the other night.
And spent all night irritating my housemate by shouting 'DAAAAYYYYYM' and 'HEEEELLL NOO!' in his ear all night.

Wait so how do UK'ers shotgun? I'm staying at a house full of them on that Thursday night so I'm sure I'll learn how regardless haha

Judging by other responses in this thread, it seems like the rest of the UK calls this shotgunning too. The Glasgow version is hard to explain but it involves bottles and straws, but you don't actually drink through the straw. I think it's sometimes also known as torpedoing or strawpedoing.
