I came home from work today to find my pet turtle had passed away. Little guy was seriously my best friend in the world. He was there with his little turtle smile when I literally had nothing. I found him in the road next to some of his squished siblings down by Biven's Arm on SW 13th in May of '06 and had him ever since. My plan this year was to bring him back to Gainesville and set him loose someplace safe. One more week and he would've been home free. He was a total Fester too. Being at the Dirty Money house show with O'Pioneers, Saw Wheel, and Lock & Key back at Fest V. Right in the same room. I'm pretty fucking bummed about it. I was riding my bike home and I was feeling strangely happy for having just worked. I guess something was bracing me for what I had waiting when I got there. I'm going to get a little wooden boat and have a viking funeral. They're really the only way to go. Life really sucks total and complete fucking ass sometimes.....

Awwww, that really bums me out Josh. I know you had plans of bringing him back to FL. I was going to email you to see if you wanted me to take you to Kanapaha if we could a free minute during the Fest to set him free.
I'm so sorry mister.

I had a good idea I shouldn't have posted this here. Thanks anyway Jana.

That really sucks dude. If there's a turtle heaven, I'm sure he's up there eating pizza right now and wishing he was at Fest instead.

This is a sad thread, but it makes me think that the Ninja Turtles probably would want you to go and party extra hard in memory of your turtle.
I consider the Ninja Turtles the ambassadors of turtlekind.

Aw that is sad. I'd love to have a turtle, he would be called Mr Turtle.
Rest in peace, shell clad friend.

Major bummer, Josh. I'm sorry for your turtle friend loss!
I do feel rude saying so without knowing its name.

I'm a little uncomfortable leaving our gecko in the care of a friend for the whole time we're away. I have no real reason to be, because she's done it for shorter periods before and the little fellow's been fine. And she definitely owes us because when we looked after her cat it was sick on our carpet and I got to clean it up. But still. Worrying times. I'm going to have to teach him how to use a phone or something.
