completely different bands than the friends your going with to the Fest? my buds i'm riding with are going to see bands like M Waste, ampere, CWV, cloak/dagger etc. Good bands and all but I gotta see D4, used kids, measure, ergs, drag the river, chinese telephones and all that good stuff. I feel like I won't even be around my friends for the most part. Kinda strange.

When I'm at festivals, I go see whatever I want to see and catch up with friends when I can. I don't care if I'm there alone. You shouldn't either, b/c you'll meet awesome people if you make a little effort.

oh no, you're right about CWV. i was thinking of Assholeparade. yeah i'm gonna still have a blast without my friends, i just didn't think about this til today for some reason. I can't wait, its getting so close. One thing that sucks is my friend Rob can no longer go cause he has to get surgery two days before the Fest to remove a couple of tumors. bummer for him indeed.

postpone it

i actually jokingly said that to him and got slugged in the arm. good times. hes gone the past couple of years and theres always next year. it will be ok.

I run around Fest from venue to venue so crazy, travelling in a pack in impossible. Of course I can't really make any specific plans about which bands to see until the schedule goes up, but I doubt that I'll have more than 50% overlap with anyone I know.

My friends will tend to gravitate to softer, more melodic stuff, whilst I tend to use The Fest as a way to catch up on all of the noise and aggression I was too busy for the rest of the year. This year, I will cut them all loose and ignore their entreaties to go see bands that take away from my thrash time.

Oh yeah, I'm also leaving my cell phone at home this year.
