can't wait till the scedule is released, o to get a better overview of what bands I'll be able to see.. there are at least ten bands I need to see/ meet..

what already clear is:
Friday: Boucing Souls (@ Venue), Gimme Drugs, The Casting Out, Strike Anywhere... also pretty sure Less than Jake and Rehaser (LTJ is playing nov2nd in the UK)
Saturday: Ruiner & FC Five...

a wilhelm scream, polarbear club and starfucking hipsters all either Fr or Sat..

a wilhem scream, polar bear club, and how dare you are playing a show on Sunday the 2nd in orlando and i believe star fucking hipsters are in orlando the day after so i definitely see fri or sat shows for those bands, *EDIT*: i just read on their myspace bulletin that How Dare You is doing a CD release on Sunday at the Fest (at 1982) then driving down same day to play that show in Orlando.

i know it was common knowledge about Bouncing Souls playing on halloween night on Friday but unless I missed it on their myspace I had no clue Strike Anywhere was a given, that's awesome. atleast that Thursday I'll have slept alittle before festing and have some energy for the souls and SA. but then again Tampa pre-festing might not let me sleep thursday either... i can already tell my luck with not getting Fest Aids last year is running out this year.

How is dumpster diving in the area? I want to spend as little money as possible on food. Also are there grocery stores to steal from?

That isn't going to help out the Fest or the Gville economy if a bunch of Festers are stealing food that whole weekend. Pretty counteractive :(

yeah, if you have to steal food, then do it at home and bring it to gainesville...or use your Fest money for some food and stay home.

I recommend a 5 pound bag of rice, a package of pork chitterlings, and a gram of crank.

Either that, or stuffing random bits of junk food in your pants at Publix, only to get the smack-down from the state troopers they keep stationed there at all times.

Personally, I intend to pay for food that weekend by stealing copper fittings from the bathrooms all of the venues and selling them for scrap.

Honestly if you have a hotel or a legit place to stay, go to publix and buy some food for the weekend. You'll save a hell of a lot of money than going out to eat or eating around while at the Fest.

Also I believe, 1 time during the Fest Food Not Bombs will be set up(Saturday, If you're a G-Ville FNBer you can correct me on this). Though obviously they cant serve thousands of people so be respectful and ect. Since this is also The Fest they might not even set up so that they can enjoy the festivities also. Just throwing that idea out there.

If you don't know what Food Not Bombs is, Check it out at www.foodnotbombs.net and maybe even start your own chapter in your city.

- most important questions: whats about drinking a can of beer on the street i florida? I heard it different from state to state, sometimes only in that brown bags so you can't see the can, in some states no open alcoholic beverages at all?

Also as a First time Fester, how active are the venues about checking backpacks and anything. Had Ideas of putting bottles of Rum or Vodka in a backpack with maybe a 2 liter of w/e to mix drinks since you say no open container and use a inconspicuous Taco bell cup or ect :)

You'll get caught at the door and they'll probably take your Fest wristband.

Most venues have a "no backpacks, skateboards, etc." rule. They just take up too much room where there should be more bodies.

Do they still do Food Not Bombs in Gville??? I hadn't heard about anyone doing it for YEARS. I was heading it in the mid 90s for a good while myself so seems I would know.
