From Tony and your Fest 7 crew:

We finally listened to all the application bands and I have to say this was the hardest and most rewarding parts of Fest 7. Lots of people told me previous years and even more so this year that I should scale this year back. Many have said that there is no reason to have so many bands. “Do you honestly think that having these 40 or so extra bands from the applications are gonna help with the draw of the Fest?” That is not what the Fest is about. It is about giving bands a chance. Everyone starts somewhere and out of all the applications that came in we picked these bands.

Valient Thorr
Nana Grizol
Mild Winter
Watson
Cofffee Project
Blacksnake
The Takers
Witches
Hot New Mexicans
By The Horns
The Damn Writes
Scum of the Earth
Guiseppe
Little Lungs
Too Many Daves
How Dare You
Low Red Land
Have Gun, Will Travel
Get Bent
Sorry No Ferrari
Antarctic
Nakatomi Plaza
God Equals Genocide
Former Humans
Cortez The Killer
Madison Bloodbath
Steady State
Last Ride In
Assassinate The Scientist
The Anchor
After The Fall
Nothing In The Dark
Jawsome
Parker Hastings
Dark Castle
The Unloveables
Protagonist

We have done everything we can to make enough room for all these bands. We kept places open longer, make Gainesville work harder, I have to pay more money for the clubs to stay open. So, why? Why add all these extra bands, why add all the extra hassle? It is about supping the love and my craving to support the new blood. If we can make room we will and this year shows more than ever. I wish we could have had even more and tried our best to accommodate but this is the best we can do this time and I think it is pretty impressive for our little town.

There is lots of planning and plotting on the message board about house parties and such held during Fest 7 weekend here in Gainesville. I think it is a rad idea especially since it is one less thing we don’t have to plan and deal with. I do ask though if you are thinking about having one look out for bands who are NOT playing Fest 7 and also respect your area because upsetting the city Fest weekend ends up ultimately coming back on us being able to host this event years to come.

As for all you Fest 7 bands that have been accepted I ask that you take a knee and let bands who are NOT officially playing the Fest play the parties, the house shows etc. This is not like other FESTIVALS. Enjoy your time and the time you get to spend with all your friends. Fuck, go to the house shows and see some new bands. You don’t need to play more. Some of you are playing pre-fests and hell, I would go to them if I could. But honestly, you are getting to play the best fucking festival ever. That should be enough. But it is up to you what you do. This is just a suggestion from someone who has put lots of time, love and labor into this.

WANNA HELP?
We need quality, friendly, and hard working volunteers. We cannot make this event happen without the help from our community here in Gainesville. You not only get to gain experience, make friends, get a pass but you also get an exclusive Fest 7 shirt design no one else can have. Here is what you have to do to be a Volunteer. Head over to the FAQ page.

We also are opening up the guidebook for submissions this year. Mainly interviews.

So I figured lets come up with 10 stock questions to ask bands playing. Here is how we are gonna do it! We have opened up a thread on the message board. Here we are asking you to submit your questions. The Fest 7 message board moderators will pick the best 10 questions and they will be sent to all the bands to answer. This could get really awesome or get really lame so my fellow Fest friends, don’t let me down on this one.

Sooooo, does it look like there won't be anymore rooms becoming available at the holiday inn or are we still at the "wait & see" phase?

Exciting update Tony! Curious how much later venues will be staying open. So glad you made that happen because we'll all get to see more bands that way.

I will be updating these bands to the confirmed list!

SO stoked about Dark Castle!!!

awesome that Protagonist is playing. haven't seen them in a long time. I thin I wore a Protagonist shirt on Sunday of Fest last year. I only remember this because so did someone else, and we talked about it.

Valiant Thorr was one of the sickest sets I've ever seen when i saw them at Fest V. And Madison Bloodbath is so fucking great. I can't wait to see them.

At the risk of steppin on Gato's toes, i'd check out the 'house shows' thread.
But, there isn't much concrete info regarding dates/bands etc.
I think checking closer to the Fest will be you're best bet.
