obviously the British are far over-represented on the board, but other than that, do you think the make up of the board fairly closely matches the make up of people at The Fest?
percentage of people actually in bands? percentage of Floridians? average age? general musical taste? drinking habits? male to female ratio? etc etc?
I just wonder, if hypothetically ALL fest-goers posted on the board, would the topics still have pretty similar content and consensus, or would the board change in ways other than just having a lot more posts?
I'm willing to guess that straight edge is under-represented on the board, and that fans of a few bands like Tiltwheel are out of proportion on the board. Probably two thirds of Fest attendees really are porn spammers though.

that's a big debate to put out there, there's a lot of different people at Fest, shy people, outgoing people, but the majority of them are really nice I met a lot of people last year and most were nice, a few assholes sneak in but hey what are you going to do? we need a balance to stand

I'm guessing that neo-luddite anarcho-gutter-punx are drastically under-represented here, other than the occasional "is it cool to sleep in a dumpster in Gainesville" post.

yeah the crusties don't have internet or electricity most of the time so they wouldn't be here. although to be honest there isn't a huge amount of them there or at least I never notice them.
also about 1000+ people at The Fest are in bands and stuff and as far as I know only 4-5 people that are actually playing at The Fest post on this board consistently (besides all the We want to play a house show threads)

I notice more smelly kids every year, what does that even mean?! I thought things get cleaner as they get bigger not dirtier and smellier

I'm not normally crusty, but I did not shower during Fest last year. Showered before work on Thursday, then not again until after the last band on Sunday night.
Oddly, I think my hair looks better when I don't wash it, but my scalp will start to feel awful.

I cannot start my day if I don't take a shower first. I don't know how people can go days without one and not feel like shit

as long as i change my socks, i'm good. If you can't go a day without showering, then never try being in a touring band. I've definitely had instances on the road where you'll get to shower 4 times in 5 weeks. I always buy a package of brand new socks though, no matter how dirty you are, if you can put on a brand new pair of socks everyday, you feel like a million bucks.

Ha! My experience with this over the years is that part of the people that live this lifestyle are trust fund babies looking like they are living the hard life... while actually living off an ATM card. And those kids have a computer at home too.

sad but true
my wife makes hair pomade and waxes. we actually have a large amount of people buy the pomade to make it look like they haven't showered in a week or two....that's what our retailers say at least. lame...but keep buying it if you do that! haha.
