I'm disappointed nobody (jana, hawkgirl?) said anything about my Causey Way mention.

when I win the lottery, I will set up my brewery/venue/studio on the edge of Gainesville, and we will use that as the start of the village. Farming would e the next step after we start selling our beer. May have to have something similar to dormotories for employee housing to begin with, but we'll expand as we grow.

I know "employee dormotories" or "barracks" brings up some very negative connotations, pre-labor movement and all that, but they would be stricly voluntary, just an option for employees to save on rent. Maybe eventually they would be reserved for guests, like a hostel, or temporary probationary housing for new residents, depending on the demand to get in.

another ideal early addition would be an in-house auto shop. I'm sure there must be some punk rock mechanics we could lure down, and then we could service our own vehicles in addtion to helping with problems bands may have with their tour vans (because we KNOW that's a frequent problem).

I'm down. I'm an ASE certified mechanic, although I make pasta for a living now.

I wasn't going out much to shows when they were around and I completely missed them. They were disbanded by the time I moved away from Gville. I think the owner of the Covered Dish was in it. And the drummer was the drummer from Man or Astroman?

I moved here in 1999. At the time the only band I can remember being into locally was Loyal Frisbee. I'm sure there are more, but my memory has gone to shit.

my best friend's step brother was in Loyal Frisbee. wait... I think he was in Loyal Frizbee, if not, then he was in some band they played with almost every show, maybe had a split with.

But I saw The Causey Way about half a dozen times in the one year I lived in Gville, 1999-2000, and a couple of times later in 2000 and 2001.

really, they are right up there with very few others for bands I most wish I could see again.

Ha, I should have looked at the members on wikipedia more closely. I certainly would have liked to have seen Rain. Always enjoy her bands. It is a rare treat to see her out these days. It also lists Summer Phoenix in the band. Funny. Oh and The Truth is Ane Diaz.

yeah, I saw Pilot Scott Tracy at common grounds last year, it was fun.

I almost wish the first PST album had just been relased under the name The Causey Way, most of the songs sound like Causey lyrics, and I think some other members of TCW also played on it.

So while at work on Wed I got the bad news AGAIN that I will likely be unemployed soon, at no fault of my own. Bush signed off on funding for gov research finally but our research group did not get a grant. So that means come Dec 1st I will have no job, just in time for Xmas

Has anyone here ever applied for unemployment? I took a look at the FL website for this and it is pretty damn confusing.

I guess what I need to know most is how much $$$ will I receive monthly. So if you've received it before give me an idea please of what percentage of your paycheck you got on unemployment.

I think you can get up to half of what you were making, of course depending on what bracket you were in. I have a friend who works somewhere that helps people apply for unemploymnt and look for jobs, not exactly sure where they get their funding, but if you feel like shleppin' your ass over to Ocala, I know where they can explain it all to you.
