To you Americans reading this you're probably thinking there is no need for this thread but for myself and I'm sure many of the UK crew coming over, the availability of cider is crucial to having a proper good time! I know there was a thread about it last year but things seem to change every year so I'm hoping the locals can give us some advance tips on where to get a good (or bad) pint of rotten apples!
It seems every time I come to Gainesville things are different but last time the following had cider. Can the locals either confirm or correct and add to the list?
Common Grounds - Strongbow on tap
Market St Pub - Strongbow on tap
That booze store on the left not far past the Holiday Inn - Strongbow in small glass bottles (6 packs only)
Mothers Irish bar - Woodchuck bottles (if you're lucky) and it's not the dry stuff.
1982 - No Cider!
Atlantic - No Cider! (they did on tap at Fest 5 but not since)
Venue - No Cider!

Yeah I was confident they would. They're the only ones that seem to have had strongbow every time I've visited Gainesville. I'm really hoping CG still has it too though.

I hope 'sometimes' is some kind of American slang for Fest weekend!

Common Grounds flat out told me they are no longer going to have Strongbow on tap. Just as my new drink was a Black Velvet of course. But they have it in cans for now, but sometimes only inside and not on the Porch. Some nights they have no Strongbow at all and I'm pretty bummed. They seem to have little concern about this. Maybe a whole bunch of you need to email them about the importance of this for the Fest at their MySpace and website:
http://www.commongroundslive.com/
http://www.myspace.com/commongroundsmusic
If enough people contact them maybe they will consider having it on tap for the Fest.

I recently got down on a case of Strongbow because of Tim's constant cider rants. I'd never had a cider before. It was dangerously good.

I just messaged them. They're gonna think I'm a right oddball! We need cider though so I encourage everyone else to do the same!

Maybe we can get in touch all venues, and ask them to get us a fridge-full in before each day? Special access only, you need a special UK only wristband to have access to the Strongbow.

If any venue gets a fridge full of cider in then I will personally guarantee they'll sell it all even if I have to drink it all myself! Not sure how many of us were on the Strongbow at Market Street last year on the day Atom Bomb played but we managed to drink them out of it there and they had it on draught as well! I would have been proud of us but it was all gone by about half 4 in the afternoon and I got my cider head on by then and needed more!

We need to start a "THE BRITISH ARE COMING! - Have you stocked up on Strongbow?" campaign for all the venues. Just a precursor/warning for their own goods..

Yeah, can someone in Gainesville print and distribute some flyers for us with those words exactly printed on them!? It may seem like a bit of an effort but you've not seen an Englishman with cider withdrawal symptoms...it's not a pretty sight!

it seems weird to me that a place wouldn't have cider on tap, most decent bars in Jacksonville did.
