• it's not hard to kill a gator. with a gun anyway. I enjoy alligator at restaurants, but buying it raw at Ward's and looking up a recipe is a much better idea if you have access to a kitchen.
• Steak 'n' Shake is not bad, but way overrated, overpriced, and far from Fest stuff. As far as food goes, I'd only go out to that part of town for Falafel King. Market Street Pub used to have awesome bison burgers, pretty cheap too (in 2001). They haven't had those on the menu in a long time though, and I don't know how their regular burger is, but I bet it's good. Their sausage made from scratch is really good, and cheap. Some of the beer they make is pretty good too, and cheap.
• I loved both pulled pork and ribs. The mustardy BBQ sauce sounds good to me, I like my sauces mustardy and venigary. Not a fan of the sweet sauces. BBQ places in the sketchy parts of town are usually a lot better.

There's a Sonic in Gainesville. It's on South Main or something. It's pretty out of the way though.

yeah, last i heard was it was just temporary. on days when i really hate my butthole and toilet, i always creep over to sonic and within minutes of just having the food in my car, my bowels get a-rumblin'.

Tator tots are never too far out of the way. I hope they're open come Fest time. If not I might just run by the one near Orlando airport
