Hello wiser and more experienced festers, I come to you seeking wisdom and advice before I make concrete Fest plans.
The only question I have is how long are the sets? Cus its going to cost me an arm and a leg and the soul of another person to get to the Fest, and I wanna make sure I'm not going to pay to get some bullshit 30 minute sets like you'd get at the warped tour.
I went to chaos in tejas which is a much smaller Fest in austin during the summer with leatherface and d4 and they both played like 45 minutes - hour long sets which was awesome, and I'm sure that the set times for different bands differs, but how long would the set be for the main bands like none more black, leatherface, d4, lawrence arms, etc?
Many thanks to the wise, experienced Fest gods who grant me the knowledge I seek.

The more popular your band. The longer the set.

This'll be my first Fest too, but for those times, is that 7:40 am - 8 am for the first show, with the last band from 12:30 am - 1:30 am? Or is it 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm for the first band, 7:40 - 8 pm for the last band?
It seems like it's the former, so I'm sure it is, but holy shit 7:40 am to see Nothington woulda been fuckin early

yeah, the absolute earliest any bands play is like 10 AM. I think the earliest band I saw was Hour Of The Wolf, at 1 or 2 PM.
Nothington definitely played in the evening. I missed their set because the line was around the block.

Most bands get 20 min. Remember there are over 200+ bands, time is important so everyone can play. Some bands get 30 min, some 45 min. The bigger bands, D4, Bouncing Souls, Leatherface, etc will get an hour.
Last year's schedule:
http://thefestfl.com/fest6/schedule.html
This goes from earliest slot at the bottom to headlining at the top. Keep in mind there really is no bad time to play. I've been to shows at the Fest at noon and they were packed and funner than most "headlining" spots at normal shows.

If you can't get it done in a half hour, it ain't punk rock.

Anyone got any idea when we can expect this years schedule?
I can't wait to sit down and plot my Festing time!

well last year was 180+ bands, and we only got the days (and possibly venues) that bands were playing on this forum.. it wasn't until registration that the final timetable was available..
this year is 250+ bands, so i wouldn't get your hopes up on knowing anything concrete until you're stood there clutching your free coozies and Fest map
