Yeah, it's not like there'll be a point when anyone's got no one to watch. Fugazi would be awesome, but I'm pretty confident I'll cope.

So that's two old bands, and one old set (souls).
Yeah I was going to say how can you forget Coalesce? I just into them and as far as I'm concerned any band with Nathan Ellis is amazing.

I would have said Fugazi but they've got that whole "nobody pays more than $5 for a ticket" thing going on, so don't think they'd play the Fest. I really wish I was made to eat my words though. But they've been on hiatus since 2002 though too.
I saw them in Gville in the 90s, only because I was outside too broke to even pay the $5 and Joe Lally grabbed me and a friend brought us in with him. I drove up to DC to see them after that, as thanks!

Inlfation affects punk legends too. I saw Fugazi at Brick City Music Hall in 2000, tickets were I think either $8 or $10. I think I actually paid $15, because it was sold out and I got the tickets from a scalper.

Funny, I was just reading about that on Wikipedia, more or less:
"Their inexpensive target goal of $5 admission was spawned during a conversation on an early tour when the band's members were debating the lowest profitable admission price. At some venues, particularly on the east and west coasts of the U.S., Fugazi was unable to get ticket prices below about $10. However, they never saw the $5 rule as inviolable, instead aiming to charge a price that was both affordable and profitable. Unlike some similar, small-scale independent rock contemporaries, Fugazi's performances and tours were nearly always profitable, due to their low business overhead costs, and MacKaye's keen sense of audience response in given regions."

I just hate the fact that I didn't really appreciate them at the time. I was dumb college freshman, only went because I liked Minor Threat, and I'm not sure if I had ever actually heard Fugazi. I thought they were kind of interesting, but mostly boring. A few years later and they are now one of my favorite bands, and I'll never get the chance to see them understand what I'm seeing.

but this is WORSE than not seeing a band.
I DID see them, and I was too dumb back then to really care.

And yeah, that's happened to me too. But I think it is worse never seeing them. Like how I nearly missed the surprise ALL reunion show in January because I was up at the bar trying to get a drink for FOREVER.

ah yes, the youngin's... I'm sure I probably saw a ton of bands once upon a time that would make the jaw drop of anyone under about 22. So many of them blur together now, nothing worth bragging about immediately jumps to mind.
dang, I'm start to consider people who legally drink to be "young."
must be really weird for Mackenzie, considering he still looks like he's 21.
