We're zooming up to DC on the Monday, which should be lots of fun, I think. I wrote my first dissertation on US politics.

...idiots thank you for bringing this up. how is it logical at all to vote for McCain over Obama just because Hilary Clinton lost the Democratic primaries? there's nothing logicial since their (mccain/hil) politics don't even align it's sour grapes and nothing more. and i know this is just a waste of breath on my part but if you really don't like Obama's platform that much you don't have to vote for him only because you're a democrat, their is other parties... granted the chances of a third party nominee winning are HIGHLY unlikely... but they also said it was unlikely Leatherface would ever play the Fest and now what?!...
It's not logical at all, but unfortunately there is gonna be a percentage of voters (primarily made up of women), who were going to vote for Hillary not based on the issues/politics, but based strictly on superficial reasons, in this case gender. I don't think it will be enough to make a difference, and the fact that Palin is super pro-life may dissuade some of the smarter woman voters who were going to vote for her strictly based on gender.
She's alot more conservative than McCain is in general, so it'll help clinch any republicans who were on the fence about McCain not being conservative enough. I don't know though, it's gonna be a close election. I think Biden is gonna tear her apart in the debates though so it'll even out.

why didn't Obama just pick Caroline Kennedy? then this would be a moot point, McCain could have picked Lieberman, and I could go back to trying not to care.

I think Biden will rip her to shreds, and with good reason, but some people are saying that if he goes at her too hard people will think he is insensitive to women.
The whole her being a woman is so lame. Voting based on race or gender is ridiculous. gotta love America.

Come election day, I know I'll be screaming and crying and hugging a half-empty bottle of whiskey.

O yeah, we'll be waking up back in IL just in time to vote- and still stupidly hungover enough to have a mass suicide if Republicans win again...

I think the country's tired of republicans. But I have a feeling if Barak wins something bad will happen to him because he's not white. While I don't agree with the system that's in place. I know it's a politician's job to say anything they need to in order to secure their spot in office, including deceit. But I still don't like to see anything bad happen to anyone. I guess what I'm saying is Barak is the lesser of the two evils. A few years ago McCain was pissing the Rs off like it was his job. And now he's become their bread and butter. If it has to be that way for now, I'd really prefer someone who's not all over the place like that running the country. I know it won't be the last, but I'd like to see this war end in my lifetime.

Agreed as well. The fake news is always on at my work (like Fox or Headline News) and there were 3 super trashy dudes arrested on conspiracy to assassinate Obama when he was in Springfield recently and it made all of us really sad. Then they said they found meth with them and we went "well, that explains everything.." Plus someone on meth can't possibly get their shit together enough to carry it out. Luckily.
Side note: Going to the RNC and getting maced in your sleep and having your "safe house" doors kicked in without a warrant sounds like fun right about now, let's go!

sometimes I like that song, sometimes it makes me cringe, it's so cheesy. But Morrissey was in my top 5 shows I saw last year.

But that's the thing, it isn't cheesy at all... it is dead on.
