I'm planning on heading to the Fest via bus or train from New Jersey, possibly staying with family in between - Does anyone know any good show lists for the south east, especially Georgia or North Carolina? (If you know others though, I'd still be interested) I'm not sure what my schedule for travelling is yet, but if it's possible I'd like to try to see some other shows along the way, either pre or post Fest. Thanks!

We (Ninja Gun) are playing with a band called Milloy (from UK) at Vito's in Valdosta, GA on Thurs 10-26 and the following night at Common Grounds in Gainesville, Fl if you're around that early.

That actually does sound rad, but unfortunatly I'm not going to be around that long - All in all, I'm mostly just travelling right around Fest Time (Planning on arriving in Gainesville the 17th, and leaving sometime on the 21st). I know there's going to be some Fest bands are going to be touring around both before and after, so I figured I'd try to see some extra shows - I believe the Against Me!/Epoxies/S.O.F./Soviettes tour is playing NC just afterwards, so I was debating trying to catch that and staying with some relatives. Plus Bent Outta Shapes going to be doing some shows too, but they're really close to Thanksgiving, and I'll have to be home by then.
However, if there's anything going on in Gainesville the night before everything starts, that would be cool.

I believe that Modern Machines and Arcade Inferno are going to be playing in St. Pete the night before Fest. Check out the ADD Records myspace page:
http://www.myspace.com/addrecords for more info.
I think there is also a pretty badass show in Pensacola that night too. Tiltwheel, Bloodbath and Beyond, Vena Cava...

WOW - I was about to ask if there was anywhere to rent a bike so I could make it to the Tiltwheel/Bloodbath/Vena Cava show, until I looked and saw that it's at least a good 6 hours, by CAR, and it doesn't seem like the MoMac show is all that much closer - D'oh.
However, I'm almost tempted to change my hotel reservation and plans, just for the Pensacola show.

Joe,
If you get to Tampa/St. Pete, we'll definitely get you back to Gainesville on Friday. Also Ted Leo's playing an earlier show the same day, so we're trying to set up the Modern Machines show right next door. Pre-fest fest-style, if you will.

That actually sounds really tempting - I'm going to see what my schedule's looking like (Some crazy family shit just went down, so I'm hoping this doesn't squash my plans), and I'll let you know if I can take you up on that as it gets a little closer to it. As of now, I've got a reservation at the G-Ville Lodge, and I'm supposed to check in between 5-6 on the 17, because I don't really know anyone else down there, didn't want to just assume I'd find a random place to stay, and wanted to get things settled the night before so I wouldn't have to in the middle of Friday. But yeah, that actually may be really cool so I will let you know.
BTW, every time I try to post now, it logs me out and makes the post anonymous, so this IS in fact Joe.
