Well I've just checked the Greyhound situation and it looks like the last one is at half 6 which is no good.
Shuttle looks like the best bet so far...

i will make an honest attempt to help out as many people as is convenient. it's just that i don't have a job right now so i might go up really early or if i get a job by then, i might head up very late. more than likely, i'll have no job and i'll procrastinate so i'd head up thursday night after waking up at 4pm.
I'll create a thread a couple days before whatever and let you all know what's up.

The fucking flights have doubled in price since last night so I'm back to square one! I may still fly in on this flight though purely based on the fact that I'd rather tackle the problem of buses with other people than on my own! My real concern with the late shuttle is where it stops in Gainesville and how hard it's gonna be to get a cab from there to a hotel in the middle of the night!
Are you flying back from Orlando as well? If so what day/time? Have you looked at return shuttle times?

Bad times dude re:flight price.
Right, firstly I can't see it being that difficult to get a cab, I mean as long as you've got a cab firms number to call, from what I can make out the shuttle drops you off at a pretty decent spot so I don't think you'll be a million miles away from a phone, and thats if there's no cabs knocking about anyway. It may even be walking distance i'm not sure of specifics but it is SW 13th where the hotels are and the drop-off is SW G.ville, you might be lucky!
If some resident G.Villians can either confirm or set me stright on this that would be appreciated!
I know what you mean about rather sorting it out with someone else, the other guy I knew of on my flight has decided to stay over for the night in Orlando and get to G.Ville in the morning which leaves me on my lonesome if you bail also.
Remember there's a few months yet, keep this thread going and we might even stumble on a couple more people and be able to split a cab or summin, or get a ride.
But yeah, let us know what you end up doin.
Get the flight Get the flight!!
Oh, and i'm flying back on Tues the 4th at 8:10pm to Heathrow via Atlanta plenty of shuttle times to get to make that flight, not worried at all. It's gettin there thats the ballbreaker.

It seems to me that there's a shuttle at just gone 7 which we'll be bloody lucky to clear passport control in time for but then there appears to be one just after midnight. It gets us into Gville at gone 2 in the morning but if we have accommodation booked in advance then that shouldn't be a problem. Have a look and tell me what you think. http://www.rnwy.com/Yeah dude, I think i've written off that shuttle at 7 because to get that would mean a perfect, delay free trip in every way which just aint gonna happen. Checked out the runways site, looks like there's one at 00:55 on the morn of the 29th, that the one you were referring to? Looka alright tho, my only issue is that i'm staying with someone for the week and I'd have to get em up early in the morning and shit which i'd rather not do. But..if thats the only option to get there then it'll have to do. You checked out the Greyhounds? I've been told there's one at 9 in the evening on the 28th, yet to check it out tho. I'll have a look. Stoked there's some more people potentially on my flight. Keep in touch.
You can wake me up early in the morning as long as you are ready to bear the mean Janeen rawr face.
j/k, just don't talk to me until I've slept in to a normal time.
For those wanting to know, it looks like the shuttle drops you on campus, which is <1 mile from the Holiday Inn.
The greyhound station is about 1 miles from the Atlantic.

Thats just too kind of you Janeen, cheers. I'll make sure to not incur your wrath any further!
I reckon the 00:55 shuttle is the way ahead, who knows if by some miracle I land early enough to catch the earlier one they might let us get on that one instead.
Then I can book my return journey aswell
Thats my plan I reckon Timmy, let me know if you're gettin involved. Hope you do, I've got 5 hours in Orlando to kill by the looks of it, could do with a buddy to prop up a bar with:)

Well I reckon if I'm not gonna fly into Gainesville then this is the best option as I wanna get there a few day early just to chill out. Im gonna wait and see if the TCOL guys come up with a reasonable way of getting from NY down the coast but if it's gonna be as expensive as it looks then I think this flight to Orlando is the way to go.

Thanks, that would be awesome! It would make the flight across the pond that much easier knowing I'm not gonna end up stuck at a bus stop for the night having got so close!

Booked! I'm on the same flight as you getting into Orlando at 5.53 pm. Are you going via Detroit and flying out of Heathrow too?
My flight back is way earlier than you though. Looks like I need to get a shuttle at 7 am on the Tuesday!

Nice one, yep out of Heathrow, stopping at Detroit.
I'll bang some money on my credit card and book my runways shuttle then. Awesome.

Heeeeey, that's another on the flight!
Good work. Those flight prices were a pain. I booked mine at about 3am which was their lowest price and by the next day they had gone up $100 and then they went down again. There isn't much predicting what they'll do.

I take it you don't wanna get the early shuttle back on the Tuesday? If two people book together it works out cheaper apparently but it has to be the exact same time shuttles and my return flight goes at about 2pm which means getting the early morning bus!

Yeah I've been price watching since about March! Planned on going via NYC for a week but found a deal so good I had to change my plans! You also flying out of Heathrow via Detroit I take it?
