This is the first I've heard of this. Is this confirmed by the Fest staff or just hearsay?
I personally think it was the only venue able to take on all the people at the Fest last year, and not have much of a line ever. I liked it a lot.
I however did not like the drink prices, I felt like I was at the airport. And the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting!

Sorry for mis-spelling your name...horribly.
Sofa King....hillarious.
The Venue was not that bad. Bathrooms were the worst. Drink prices pretty hefty. Lighting and latex video screens were weird.
And what you guys missed was the dancefloor that was removed Friday afternoon. A great big box that had a lucite top with lights underneath. Think a 70's disco floor, six feet tall right in the middle of the pit.
But the room was pretty perfect after that. Great big and layered.
Take a look on our site (Smoke Or Fire, The Lawrence Arms and American Steel were there).

So no Sidebar then? That place is home to my best Fest memories.
And White Lightening, don't do it. Ever. It smells like duck poo, could thin paint, clean metal and gives you a real ring sting the next day. Don't do it.

Thanks for the heads up, 8 months after the fact!

And, bring back the Downtown Plaza. I heard the Venue and Abbey road are up this year and Common Grounds is out. Downtown Plaza belongs to the city. So it's a tough spot. there is no fucking way that Common Grounds will not be part of The Fest. It's easily my favorite venue, but they definitely need some venue bigger than CG as well.
.... i agree...

So the official poster says there are going to be 8 venues this year. Ones I'm pretty positive of:
The Atlantic
Common Grounds
1982
Market Street Pub
Durty Nellys
The Venue
The Kickstand
The other Fest venue??
Abbey Road is the only one I can think of since the Side Bar closed down. But I hope not unless they have A/C in there now.

The Thunderdome is the only one that matters.

I don't see it happening since the City of gville already has something planned there for Friday.
You guys will all be just so pleased to find a Grateful Dead Tribute band and Costume Contest on the plaza this Halloween! Ah-hahahahaa

Pretty sure the Kickstand is replacing 2nd Street this year, because of the distance thing.
