...what purpose the Amtrak bus stop serves in Gainesville?

I've tried to work out where Amtrak buses go to and from (I read somewhere Palatka) but literally nothing seems to go there on the website?!

I guess it just buses you to the nearest station, since I don't think Gainesville has one of its own.

Amtrak doesn't actually have trains that go to Gainesville, but they do have a bus stop. There are some weird retarded laws about using the Amtrak busses, like you have to also have a train ticket for some portion of you trip to be allowed ot buy a bus ticket in some states (FL being one of them).

it pisses me off, because the Amtrak busses are cheaper than the greyhound busses. I wish there was an actual passenger train that would stop in either Gainesville or Ocala.

I'm going to assume it takes you to Waldo. That's the closest train station in Gville.

Also, maybe call Amtrack and see what's up:

1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or TDD/TTY (1-800-523-6590)

Thanks guys,

It was one of those things that was an option, I was just thinking it might be cool to get an Amtrak train to Fest but then realised there isn't actually a station, but that bus stop shows up on the website.

I think I'm just going to use a boring Airport shuttle now...
