So it looks as though I'll be flying from London Gatwick out to Tampa with my girlfriend and spending a couple of days on the beach before renting a car and driving to Gainesville.
I've been looking at Hertz car rentals, and it looks as though I can get a Ford Focus (or similar) for 2 days for £15-odd a day; although because I'm only 21 I'll have to pay an Age Differential Charge of around £15 per day. So I'll be getting a car for two days for only £60...I make that around $140. Does anyone know if that's roughly an average price? It seems real cheap, I don't want to turn up and have to pay a whole load more because I've not been driving 3 years or something.
Thanks!
Jay xx

i could drive like a few thousand miles before they charged me, and i had a one state radius around the state that i was in that i could drive too. and i had to promise to leave it filled up when i dropped it off. but they will usually fill it up for you for a cheaper rate than just going to the gas station(this is an option)....

It didn't look like they did. Not that it will matter all that much, I'll only be driving around Tampa for a couple of days (does anyone know where you can see wild alligators, I don't really want to go to a fucking zoo) and then up to GNV.

If you use AVIS there is no age charge, they lowered their age limit to 21+ recently.
I'm picking one up in Orlando for 4 days, estimated total after all the fees and taxes is $139, so about $35 a day.
