the only real wildlife i saw in florida were pelicans and dolphins, i'd be creeped out if i saw a banana spider or a coconut crab, any other fruit incectoids people? haha

there is a park in Gainesville where you can go see gators, it's pretty tight because there's no fences or anything, you just get as close as you feel comfortable, it's a nice little hike too. the only problem is that if you're only down there for the Fest weekend, it'd drastically take away from Fest time.

[quote="Ryan!"]Anyway if you want to sleep in our yard in a tent that's fine, there's a couch on the porch too. I don't know how many people are going to take me up on this but yeah you can most likely use my shower too just as long as people are respectful and whatever./quote]
Consider yourself just taken up upon! If thats cool with you, of course...

I mentioned this a while back but I think it is time for my gator PSA again:
Every Fest I meet SO many people that want to see a gator, and I've taken some to see them when I have the time.
But seriously people, drinking and getting too close to the gators is a REALLY BAD IDEA. Especially at night.
People have lost their dogs walking them too close to the lake on campus. And some people have been attacked too. And these things happened in the daytime.
Oh, and I was in the Santa Fe Zoo program and handled 50 some tiny gators daily, and even the ones under a foot have very sharp and strong jaws. So don't think that because it is smaller it is safer. One of those could get a digit, and a 5 footer could easily take off a limb.
Take it from my uncle, he lost his arm (but thankfully not his life) to a big ol FL gator, right in Gville:

so I'm pretty sure I'm coming up alone and it would be useless to get a hotel room by myself, so I'm looking for a place to crash possibly or just a couple of people that would want to share a hotel room.
I suppose just let me know if anyone has any ideas.
and I was far too lazy to read this entire thread but alligator encounters are rather unfortunate.

The address is ACTUALLY 418 4th Pl, Gville, 32601 but google maps always suggests 418 4th ave or something which is next block south but only like 100 ft away if to want to check out the area (which is right downtown between 1982 and atlantic/cg's all that, total stumble distance now!).
you got room for two more at the moment? cause i'd take you up on that if you have the room.

Is the Days Inn sold out? The website tells me it is, but it seems way too early for that.

now i'm kind of scared a gator's going to bite my leg off. i remember working at a subway and this alligator snapping turtle was in the back, i don't know how he got there. he snapped a chunk off this broomstick and i don't even remember how we got him to climb back into his mud puddle. a real life gator would probably not even think twice before chomping my limbs off.

Ha! Stumble away dude, it'd take an atom bomb to get me up after a night on the sauce.
I may well meet you at the weekend at the Pre-Fest, I hear you're quite the bowler. Better bring my A game.
