ha, guess I'v never stood quite that close.

and yeah, bats eat bugs, but it's still murder being right by that lake at dusk. the bats can't get them all, and the rest will get YOU.

i've been getting bit by mosquitos more than I used to, but not as much as when I was a kid. Luckily, the bites don't last as long as when I was a kid either.

I was taking photos of them, of course.

Oh and walk around your yard and look for anything that is or can hold water. I have almost no mosquitoes and that's why. And I live in the stix. I always see way more in the city because of all the trash.

The Museum of Natural History is pretty awesome. I think the megaladon jaw display has since moved, though. Ya missed that. Next door is a huge art gallery/museum with a beautiful garden outside.

Both are free/accept donations. The Butterfly thing is the only thing that costs money to see.

Grossology sounds pretty sweet, for the kid in all of us.

Oh and Payne's Prairie via the Hawthorne Trail is pretty sweet if you're going to have a bike or can get your hands on one.

Based on some special I watched on Discovery or Animal planet recently, if a shark isn't in an aggressive mood, you can grip both sides of a shark's 'nose' and send it into tonic immobility.

I'm not personally going to ever want to try it though. This guy even tried it with a great white!

Watch it sometime. Nothing short of amazing. Its the last one on this link:

I saw grossology when it was in Jacksonville. It was cute, but kind of disappointing.
