I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but I am having to catch a lot of flights for the rest of the year, and found this little gem to find the cheapest flights.

www.kayak.com is a really great site where you put in your departing city and your arrival, your departing and return dates, and it searches all the air travel companies and finds you the cheapest round trip fare. These are not all nonstop flights, but, You know, if you're on a budget hanging out for a couple hours in another city may not be so bad.

Definitely check it out if you are coming to the Fest and haven't gotten your plane tickets yet.

hope this is helpful.

that's my favorite site!

I get weekly emails on flights out of here that are great deals. It makes me want to take spontaneous vacations all the time.

Thanks for this, I hope I won't have to fly there this year, but this should be helpful.

hey buddy, it's pete (young hearts). i use kayak too, soo good. i was just checking it out for our flight to the Fest. looks like we'll have to fly to jacksonville and find a lift to GNV from there. if you or anyone you know would have the capacity to pick us up so we can avoid a car service, let me know!

I'm doing the same thing, flying to Jacksonville because it's a lot cheaper. Then I'm planning on taking the greyhound the rest of the way to Gainesville, which will be about $18.

How long would the Greyhound from Jacksonville to G-ville take, do you know? Out of interest.

According to greyhound's website, 1hour 35 minutes.

The only downside is that I'll have to wait in Jacksonville all night and get on the bus at 9 the next morning. The only buses leaving from Jacksonville to Gainesville are at 9:00 and 9:15 am.

Yeah that's a good idea, I'll try but it's probably too early to ask now right? I'm not even completely sure what I'm doing yet.

zachobbs, thanks for suggesting kayak.com, I've never flown anywhere so this helps a lot.

How far ahead of time should I book a flight? If I wait until september/beginning of october, will I be able to find a decently priced flight?

i thought about the whole jax option...but with the money for greyhound, and taxi to the bus station, like 20 miles away...and the hassle of cooridnating all of this i thought it would be less stressful and just about the same amount of money to do gnv straight up...now who's gonna pick me up from the airport? haha
