I've been meaning to get a new one this summer though. I've been out of it too long. there's gotta be some interesting story behind how that all ended for you. I don't know why but the past couple weeks i've convinced myself I want to make a Skate video. Except not your typical 'look my friend can do a kickflip' thing, something more from a cinematic aspect. http://www.vimeo.com/1353988thats about as close as i've come to finding something like the idea I have
It depends on what you find interesting. But let me tell you.... If there is a hell, it's located in the company of my ex haha
Here's one of the decks, the gold one:
They came in six colors and various sizes. It says "New Blood" on it. The name of our company. We were going to commission artists for the next series. But sadly these were the only ones to be made. Aside from my ex fucking everything up, my partner started smoking crack. Really...

Also, westside park, on NW 8th Avenue and 34th Street. Big old school halfpipe and little street course. Kind of hectic with the rec center vibe, though, seeing as it's wedged in between tennis courts and baseball fields and whatnot. Plus, who the fuck actually has the courage/skills/stupidity to skate those monsters anymore? I always end up a spectator when I go there.
Northeast Skatepark (citizen's field) is smaller and way more relaxed. Plus, there's the field to run around in and whatnot.
There are rumors of a concrete bowl being put in this fall. Hopefully, it will be open by October.
All of the public skateparks are unmonitored, open dawn to dusk, no pads required.

I'll definitely be bringing my board and seeking people to shred with. I'm not particularly great, but I can stick kickflips and take small staircases. I really just want to cruise around Gainesville since I'm not into that hipster biking stuff.

One thing that totally threw me last year was these crusty punk kids riding fruity road bikes with racing handlebars and thin wheels like the one my dad has. I really thought it'd be BMX's all round, or at least mountain bikes.. It looked like Crass doing the Tour De France

road bicycles are important for long rides or riding fast. much more comfortable than a bmx bike. also parts are more abundant and therefore cheaper, unless your buying top quality shit.

I'll skate too. I'm coming down to FL a week early to skate and surf, and go to Tampa.
