Last I heard the Crobar is no more! are you for seriousness. that place was my local...oh the memories. or non-memories if i am speaking truth... We are talking about the dingy little metal bar that was almost impossible to breath in right? The only good thing about that place is they had Poison Idea on the jukebox. That said I have had some pretty mental nights in there over the years. Yeah apparently it's closed down. The new Intrepid Fox opened not too far away and it's a huge two storey metal bar with pool tables, patio/smoking area etc. so I guess it pushed the crobar out of business when the smoking ban came in. Kenny, was the Scottish one a metal bar too? oh wow. so it must have only been recently that it shut down. cos i lived across the road from the new intrepid fox up until december last year. that is so sad. was such a funny but often horrible place to hang out.
Well I just checked the website and it's still there so maybe it's not shut down after all. I suggested to someone recently that we met up there for a drink before a gig and she said it had shut down and then someone we met in another bar that night confirmed it. I'm sure at some point I witnessed it with my own eyes too but I'm wondering if I dreamt it now! I'll check when I'm next in town and let you know.

any of you UK beer drinkers like Fiddler's Elbow, but Wychwood Brewery? The liquor store had bottles already cold, unlike most of thier good beer, so I snuck a bottle into the Ergs show last night.

f anyone loves hoppy delicious ales as much as I do, check out Rogue's Juniper Pale Ale. Also, Slighbor from reaper ale is obnoxious. And lately, I've been stupid and buying these six dollar 22oz of Stone Russian Imperial Stout. not a beer for humans, i'm pretty sure.

Rogue Juniper is alright, I wish Rogue would just at an IPA to their regular line up of beers available in six packs. The Brutal Bitter is pretty damn close to an IPA though.
I am constantly in agony over the fact that I cannot get Stone in FL.

no stone in florida eh?
maybe we can make a swap. is there an IPA down there that would stack up to whichever stone brew you'd like? we can't get east coast beer out here usually.

We get a pretty good range of beers hrere, but I'm not sure what is or isn't avilable out there. Do you get beer by Bell's? I'm sur eyou don't get Terrapin, I just scored a 4-pack of their Rye Squared Imperial Pale Ale last night.

i've never had any stone, but I hear such rave reviews all the time. I love IPA and stout beers, porters, barelywines, octoberfests, almost any style with a lot of flavor.

I know Old Style is made here, i dunno how big distribution is but it seems pretty well-known. we can bring some down for ya, nothing special, its your average beer not unlike PBR actually.

It's made by PBR unsurprisingly.

we have old style out here. i'm pretty sure schlitz, PBR, old style are all made in the same place, i had assumed it was milwaukee. they all taste more or less the same, and are the same price.

We were in a bier halle-type place last night with a great selection of beers from all over the place, a lot of fun. Countries we managed to get covered included Poland, Czech Republic, Argentina, Spain, Kenya, Germany, Spain and Chile. Unfortunately I can't remember many of the actual names.
