I think that was me. We always have some problems at registration but we try our very best to accommodate everyone. I keep trying to make it better every year.
Like everyone has been saying the Fest does sell out. Just get your tickets soon after they go on sale and you will be fine. If you wait until the last minute you will be fucked.
TimmyUK wrote: I booked and paid for my tickets/shirt/skate deck(!) pretty much as soon as they went on sale last year. I then dropped another $700 on a flight and a few hundred more on accomodation/airport transfers etc. Got to registration early on the Friday to be told there was no record of my booking! You should have seen the look on my mates face...he'd clearly had no confidence in my ability to book tickets (he worries about that kind of thing for some reason) and immediately assumed it was a fuck up on my part and was ready to kill me! I knew it was well sold out and have to admit I was about to start shitting bricks but then I heard one of the very nice No Idea chaps say' they've come all this way, there's no way they're not getting in' or words to that effect. So after my near heart attack/murder by friend we got our passes and everything else so all was good. If that had been in England we would have been kicked out the door...that's why I've given up on UK festivals in favour of the US every year! Anyway, my point is it does sell out and it's not a nice feeling to get there and think you may not get into the shows so don't fuck about...if you're going then buy your ticket asap and worry about details later.
I checked my credit card statement when I got home...I was charged but either way it was nice of whoever it was to give us the benefit of the doubt...thanks if you're reading!

Yeah, I waited until the last minute last year and completely lucked out with finding someone who had a spare ticket. This year, I'm not missing out.
My suggestion is this:
If you want to go to the Fest but need to work out details including who is going with you, etc...
OR, if you're in a band that wants to play the Fest, sent in an application and is waiting to hear back if you can play.
No matter what the circumstances are, if you want to go, BUY YOUR TICKETS AS SOON AS THEY GO ON SALE.
If something happens and you end up not being able to go, you can always put the ticket up for sale either here or at the Myspace later on as you can guarantee that there WILL be people who missed out and are looking for tickets/passes.

Dammit. This thread isn't helping my anxiety. Add the fact that I'm on a sketchy Internet connection in the Andes of Peru and I'm shitting myself.

Calm down...anybody on this board that checks in once a week will know what's up. Alex...don't get excited. Air is too thin up there.
You're gonna be able to buy a ticket...just don't slack. It'll sell out in a month...my prediction at least.

It doesn't sell out THAT fast, don't have any panic attacks.

so mackenzie, nikki and that boston crew were some of my really good friends. thanks once again for helping them out! they are trying to play this year(band: where the land meets the sea) if you attend their show i'm sure they would all buy you beers for what you did last year.
i had my tix last year but i knew 2 kids who didn't and drove to the Fest anyways...sure enough we talked to some random college kid who worked at the hotel and he sold us his comp ticket that no idea gives out.
BUT in both cases luck and good people were involved. i suggest getting them as quickly as possible.
