Holy shit, from what I've been hearing the lineup this year will be incredible. Just a few of what I've heard (I'd remember more but I was drunk!):
All with Scott Reynolds (this has been known for awhile)
Raygun
Big Drill Car
and most importantly to me...COCK SPARRER!!!!
I am so stoked. Who all is going? And post more lineup facts/rumors you've heard?

Apparently TSOL is gonna play this year . . . which pisses me off like none other.
Seriously, Riot Fest is a load of bullshit. Five bucks for a can of PBR, that shitty Kilo Kai rum is being hocked everywhere (including the ceilling of the fucking venue) there's no smoking inside anymore (which also means no sneaking dope) and they lock the doors at seven, the bouncers are dicks, the stage is like five feet from the crowd, and the goddamn North Side punks are almost uniformly assholes. The first year I went, I decided that I wouldn't go again. Then last year they got the Bad Brains and I dropped acid and went to see 'em. It was fucking awful. HR had all the energy of a bowl of stewed carrots, and it didn't matter. Golden Oldies cash-in bullshit is all it is.
But fuck, man, TSOL. Goddammit.

I'm going...got my ticket already. The line up gets announced on Thursday but currently the only officially confirmed band is All. I didn't expect Raygun to be doing it again this year as they headlined the last two years but I'm not complaining if they do!
The only other band I can pretty much guarantee will be playing is Shot Baker which is good as I think they're fucking awesome!

I agree with you as far as Bad Brains go and the Congress is a fucking shit place but the club shows that surround Riot Fest are what make it worth while. From what I've been told it's gonna be club shows on the Fri/Sat and then only the Sunday at the Congress this year which is better at least.

I will give you that - I saw Raygun's "secret show" at the Subterranean the first year they were back together at a Riot Fest pre-show and it was mind-blowingly awesome. The last few times I've seen 'em they've been nowhere near as good.

Man, that's how they getcha.
As a side note, I don't really listen to Cock Sparrer, but that band will forever have a place in my heart because the girl I lost my V-card to was wearing a Cock Sparrer tank top. I was smashed on keg beer and King Cobra and singing Dead Kennedys, she apparently thought this made me worth sleeping with. At a crowded party, in a room with an unlocked door. To this day my friend Mark will still put on "England Belongs to Me" and nudge me while wiggling his eyebrows. Okay, side note over.

Riot Fest is such a weird thing. They have fucking amazing bands every year, but it also draws out all the super shitty high school crowds. The annoying little shits that all look the same.
If those kids werent there, it would be a fucking amazing show(s).

Interesting comment from the guy with "All Ages" in his handle.
But really, it's not just the stupid kids, it's the crappy venue, too.

To be fair, I host a radio show called All Ages Radio, and im not too clever to think of something else.

Alright, that's cool, there was just some irony that bears mentioning.
Seriously, HR was so lame last year I had to leave the fucking venue. Maybe it was too much to take after eating LSD all weekend, but I just couldn't take watching everyone getting worked up while he puts in zero effort. I could hear the cash registers going off.

I went out and hung out at the merch tables after two songs as it was just boring as fuck especially in that huge room with zero atmosphere. I'm guessing All will make much better headliners at least.

Man, considering how much a headlining band gets you'd think the least they could do was put on a really damn good show for the fans. We're talking like $20,000. I imagine ALL will be a much better show. They are good hearted guys that love music and their fans.
