not sure if this has been brought up yet but Fest AIDS is an affliction that you do not want to come across. However, for some this will be an inevitability.
i was curious about how other fest-goers are going to combat this horrible plague. any good/bad stories from the past?
i was sick for almost 2 weeks after last years Fest was over. it was not pleasant.

I just look after myself during Fest and don't over do it. I know, that's a little contrary to the whole spirit of the Fest. I'm sorry.
I love beer, but I'm really a pretty moderate drinker. And I like being drunk with friends, but I really don't like being drunk at shows.

I was seriously sick for two weeks after as well. This time I'll hopefully be able to rest and not have to sleep on a school bus as well as be able to shower more than one time in 6 days. Also vitamins and eating more than just the 2 for $3 cheesy doubles and leo's pizza.

emergen-C goes really well in a Murphelberry (might be spelling it wrong) from Common Grounds.
Its a pink drink, so men, get two.

I'm with Give Blood, shit just doesn't need to go down that hard, I like the remember the shows, last year I didn't even drink that much but mixed with all the pizza and stuff I got a little sick and I dealt with it by getting sicker, how's about that for a cure?

i'll probably try and pace myself for sure, there's nothing worse than having a huge hangover then not being into watching bands/doing stuff cos you feel so bad
...that's not to say i won't go nuts and drink waaaaaaaaay too much on the last day though.
definately remembering that the partying's gonna last at least 3 consecutive days is gonna be key.
plus fruit juice...fruit juice is the best thing ever whilst hungover, i guess i'll be in the right place for a cool glass of OJ eh?

Fest is only 3 days a year, so it's no big deal to be a zombie for a few days afterwards.
Last year I had the gameplan to prevent sickness by being on a steady diet of Pabst, Vodka, and Leo's Pizza, but I was still drained for days despite keeping taht strict diet.

Whatever. You WILL get FestAIDS, I WILL get FestAIDS, we'll all get FestAIDS. It's the price you pay for the best weekend of the year, that's how I look at it!

i did pretty well last year. just remember to drink water, emergen-C and airborne are amazing as both preventatives and hangover medication, and eat. I also tried to find little half hour increments during the day to take a quick nap or just rest, which is hard to do since there's great bands on all day long somewhere. Also i tried to stay away from hard liquor until the sun went down, ha.

yeah, last year a few times I had to curl up ina semi-quiet place inside a venue and nod out while waiting for band. Once each day.
I slept during Youth Brigade on Friday, in a dark corner at The Venue. That wasn't so much Fest exhaustion as the fact that at the time I was working the graveyard shift Thursday night, and I left straight from work on Friday morning, and hadn't slept yet.
Saturday, my hardest day with the most bands, I took a very uncofmrtable nap on The Porch after watching Circle Takes The Square play one song (had to rest up for MW and PIB).
Sunday, I found the unlocked stripper room with nice quiet couches in The Venue. So I was takin' quick cat naps and stealing liquor whenever I wanted.

I honestly don't remember that working out too well for ya. I seem to recall Jameson with our coffee the second we woke up.
