Okay, I shaved yesterday.
So, today is day 1. Whoever suggested July 1st as beard-start must've pre-empted this shit. It's oooooooon.

I've got I think just over a week's growth, and I really don't feel like shaving today, so I may not qualify for official beard competition.
I'm sure that or without a fresh start today, if I do not shave until November, I will not have the biggest beard among all July 1st growers, but probably up near the top of the ranks.

I believe i may be the one that suggested the july 1st start, but unfortunately i don't think i'll be shaving either. It's tough on us fat kids, the beard works so well to hide the chubby face some of us are sporting. plus having a beard and a beer belly is almost an aphrodisiac here in Richmond.

If I can do it, so can you.

Since I'm horrible at facial hair, I've decided to grow a Fest mullet. We'll see what happens...

I have to admit, I'm slightly apprehensive about what kind of fad this might start . . . hahahaha. Although one time, for a very brief span, my sister had a mullet for the sake of a scavenger hunt. HA. I refuse to let her forget.
The great thing about mullets are they're unisex -- so no more complaining about not being able to participate in the ridiculous hair fashions of the Fest for us ladies.

Richmond is just a bigger Gville to some, or so I've been told.
Edit: Or perhaps Gville is a smaller version od RVA?

I think Avail said it best during their set

this pic of me was taken about 3 months ago and i havent shaved the stache yet.
(about 5 weeks into it)
i'll get an updated pic soon so you can see the facial hair timeline of a 26 year old whose whiskers grow at the rate of one who is 16.
i was thinking of shaving it off but now i guess i have to keep it for the Fest!
i know the quality is "artsy" and poor but thats all i could find on my computer without taking way too much time
