Also make sure you visit the download site from the card that came with the comp: it has additional songs from a few other area bands that didn't quite make it in time for inclusion on the comp, plus MP3s of the original Right To Assemble 7"!
thanks man I'll get on this

Jay, do you know who's involved with the Young Livers NJ gig the Sunday before Fest? Specifically, does whoever's putting it on do late gigs or whatever? I guess maybe not on a Sunday, but I think we might get in too late to see it, annoyingly.

I am thinking about aiming for the that YL gig as the beginning of my journey to Fest. Would anyone be heading from NJ/NY to uh, Tampa on the Wednesday by any chance? Hah!

does anyone else think that there might be some sort of correlation between really bad smells and really good punk rock. It seems like it makes sense on so many different levels. Anyone who'd ever been to the rathskeller in boston would know exactly what i'm talking about. telegraph road in Berkeley, at least in the day. how many times have you been to a really good basement show and thought to yourself, "god it smells like ass, feet, and five year old beer down here" and still enjoyed yourself because of the great music. and then the crowning piece of evidence....the state of New Jersey. some of the worst smells and best punk rock of all time.

For some reason that theory has reminded me of the 2006 Latterman European tour.

Yes...me! Although I don't have transport either! It's only 50 odd quid to fly though so I may do that but I need to get from Tampa to Gainesville on the Thursday or even Wednesday night after the gig at the skate park. I'm gonna talk to Greg Chillerton and see if he plans to get a car and if he has space but if the band are all there too then I doubt it.

Telegraph ave smells bad because that's where all the street kids and home-bums hang at. I know because I used to be one of them. I'm always in awe when I go to Jersey because the people there have monumental amounts of garbage in their yards like they're lawn ornaments. Horrifying

any of you Jersey people remember a band called Random Task? I need to dig up their CD. Think they broke up about 6 years ago.

No CD release...the best suggestion I could make would be to get a copy of the record which comes with the download which you could then burn for yourself. Seems like a bit more trouble but then again I would say it's worth it. And hey, you get big artwork, a great booklet to go along with it, and a hell of a great slab of vinyl to start your collection if you ever do get yourself a turntable!

I haven't heard anything specific about the Young Livers show, but on their myspace it says they're planning on hitting New Brunswick. Unless they play the Court Tavern it will most certainly be a basement show, in which case it will need to be done by 10 pm according to the local laws. Well, actually, the show would be illegal at most any time of day but 10 pm seems to be the magical hour the local scene came up with to not push it with neighbors/cops getting involved.
In any event, as the time draws nearer I will surely hear more about it and whoever ends up putting on the show will definitely be somebody I know so I'll keep you folks in the loop!

I remember Random Task, but mostly as a name on flyers/around the scene.
They were pretty poppy from what I recall...?
