I was at that show, the video on youtube doesn't even clearly show half of the carnage.

But bands like that DO play The Fest. There's always a small contingent of metal and hardcore bands. In my list I pretty much stuck to the bands That I think are less likely to attract the "tuff guy" crowd. And Botch would never play anyway, they are long gone. I think Bane on a showcase with Paint It Black would be perfect.

Converge even played Gainesville not too long ago. That "gainesvillefest" was just a case of way too many of those bands at one time (and most of the bands sucked anyway).

Imagine this: A bunch of sXe tough guys only going to see those bands mixed in with drunk beard punks at a festival sponsored by the likes of Pabst. In a perfect world, everyone would get along. In this one, it's a timebomb. I went to a Bane show up here a month ago. There were only two drunk people there, and they we treated like complete shit. Even by the band themselves. People were trying to punch them out during the show.

the night paint it black played the Fest last year i was standing in line in front of some fsu guys. face tats and all. they were ready to kill when they found out the show was 'sold out'

I was making a joke about the college. But coincidentally, I believe there might be a few members of "friends stand united" living in tally.

I'm somewhat familiar with FSU. Some of the rumours are true, but a lot of them are geatly exaggerated too. They were once a driving force in cleaning out the neo-nazis from the punk and hardcore scenes in the NE, but it seems to have turned into just a clique now.
