I've been looking around and trying to book now, but it says the Holiday Inn has nothing available the dates of the Fest. Someone told me last year that the hotel was booked through the tickets and that No Idea is holding the hotel entirely this year and you can book through them when the Fest tickets go on sale.
Is it too soon to say if this is true or not? I'm just curious.
(Last year I didn't book stuff on my own, now I'm going to)

I am sure we will be hearing something soon about official hotels, so I'd hold off just a bit.
Plus, with the destruction that happened at last years, I don't think that hotel would welcome Festers again

That rumour of No Idea booking out the entire Holiday Inn for this year made it to the UK some months ago. I'm pretty sure it is the case and I for one have every intention of staying there again!

We do have the Holiday Inn again. Booking will be very similar to last year.
Tickets and hotels will be up within the month.

Patience? Haha
Anyone remember how much it was last year? Just trying to get an idea in my head of how much this will cost.

Not to knock the Holiday Inn, but don't forget that the hotels are not the only option.
I hosted a fella from the UK for the Samiam/HWM shows (orlando & gainesville) earlier this year. He was a great guest and all of my friends enjoyed having him around.
I encourage Gainesville people to open your homes to Festers coming to town from overseas, across the nation, etc, but use your head/trust your beer gut.
There are 100 people in Gainesville on couchsurfing.com. So, out of towners - Hit them up, network, etc! No hotel costs means more food/beer/merch money for you and possibly a different local experience.

This is very true, however, I am likely going with a bunch of folks so I'd prefer to have a hotel, ya know? Otherwise I'd consider this an option. But thank you, that is an awesome website and idea.
PJ - thanks for the info.

This is what I wanted to do for Insubordination Fest next weekend but my friends and I had no luck finding hosts in Baltimore.

Wasn't there a total mob scene at the Holiday Inn last year? I didn't see it myself, just a YouTube video or two, but it looked pretty intense. Are they gonna let that happen again, or is it gonna be crawling with pigs this year or something?

Last year the Inn was caught off guard by festers. No one ever knows what Fest is actually like until they experience it, no matter how much you try to describe it. I could see them going all out with security this year, making the Inn not a very choice spot. I say hit up some friends from years prior or make new ones and give all you moolah to the bands that come all that way. People will have a much better time once they've come out of their shells.

what i've heard is that they will be giving you wristbands when you check in if you are staying at the holiday inn. and if you don't have a wrist band after a certain hour, you'll get kicked out. so having ten people in a room is going to be harder this year. but we'll find a way to do it.

There's always this year. I remember hearing something about a pool party with fireworks. Now that's the shit.
Speaking of which, fireworks are legal in Florida, aren't they?
