I was kinda hoping The Fest would be a weekend earlier than usual this year, so everyone would have time to get back home and rest up so they could make sure to go to the polls on November 4.
But since I know how hard it is to set up something this huge, all we can do now is try to make sure everyone either votes early, does an absentee ballot (although I don't trust those), or just makes sure to fit that Tuesday into their schedule.

I'm pretty pleased about the timing, I'm totally going to scoot up to DC the day after Fest to see what's what. My first degree was politics so any chance to see a different system in action is pretty exciting.

That's a damned fine point. That'd be all we need, to hand over another election because thousands of the country's most radical voters were too busy nursing hangovers and on road trips to remember to vote. Did the Republicans set up the Fest this year?!

This is a really good point that we didn't really think about. Tony and I will try our best to remind folks through Fest announcements to submit absentee ballots if you're not going to be back home in time for the election.

Ouch, but seriously... this is a REALLY important thing NOT to overlook everyone.
Check out the Absentee Voting and Early Voting info here for your state:
http://www.vote411.org/
I know the Fest Flu is usually kicking everyone's ass for at least a week afterwards. So take care of voting before the Fest.

I trust early voting WAY more than absentee ballots. All the early voting votes actually get counted on election night, but the absentee ballots really only get counted if the race is close enough that they would make a difference. That just doesn't set well with me. But I'm not sure if every state has early voting.
If we wouldn't get busted for voter fraud, everyone registering in FL would be a good stragetic move, deliver this big old swing state.

If a voting bloc of thousands of Festers turned the tide in Florida, I would be so ridiculously pleased.
