That was my first Fest, and it most certainly won't be my last . . . I hate this "real life" bullshit like work and school - I wish there wasn't a year to go.

Reggae Shack was amazing.. so was 'Gator Dawgs, Five Star and Leonardo's. I got home about 4 hours ago and i don't know what to do with myself. I spend a week without the internet or a t.v, and it was the best week of my life. i sat and talked to people all night, we wandered around, went for drinks and food and just used every second of the day to do something constructive. how can i go back to work? i already knew it was pointless but now i have seen the alternative face to face.
to paraphrase a line from Fight Club, "After Festing, everything else in your life has the volume turned down."
also, the next issue of my zine (black lesbian president) is going to be a Fest special, with interviews with bands who played and generally all about the week i was over there. it'll be out in mid-december hopefully. i'll keep you posted if anyones interested.

this is absolutely how I feel. I never made it to Gator Dogs unfortunately, but the Gyro place ruled as well as Leonardo's. Their vegan cookies were so good, and cheap too.

I overheard a cute girl on the street after Small Brown Bike say, "Now I'm going to go home and I'll be lonely."
I thought too late to offer to keep her company, but I know exactly what she meant. 3 days straight of seeing friends from all over the country, and making new friends. Now I go back to my routine of barely hanging out with anyone besides my roommate and my dog. And I prefer the company of my dog most of the time.
