i'm going to assume gainesville is pretty bike friendly, but how complicated be the roads? and do most of the venues have some places for my two wheelers to get their locks tied to?

Very uncomplicated. Streetes run horizontally, avenues virtacally.
And down town is very bike friendly. But you can find bike racks in most places regardless.

Gainesville is on a grid, so its relatively easy.
As far as renting goes, try Recycled Bikes (next to Wayward Council), or even Spin Cycle (a few blocks east of Recycled on the left).

Renting never occured to me. I'll be in hog heaven, I love riding bikes!

Renting would be ideal . . . two miles walking would be tiring to my fat Midwestern ass, but two miles on a bike would be like cake. Ice cream cake. With Oreo topping . . .
Dammit, now I'm hungry.

i think niles has rented before... maybe not for the Fest specifically, though.
if you bring a wheelset for a ss/fg and some pedals, you can "rent" my boyfriend's old raleigh....
