so I wrote this epic song, and yeah I'm surprised it came out of my head too...
I can’t wait to get home
This town feels abandoned
These people want their feet on the ground
Before they’ve even left it
Safer than the highway
Yet people get fucked up to the point of shaking
Or just panic sober miles high
A risk worth taking
(Especially with these seven dollar drinks)
Visions of heaven grow closer
Nighttime changes the scene to over
Fuck all these layovers
I just wanna get home
Why can’t I see all my friends more than one weekend?
This is the best time that I’ve ever had
Somehow it gets better ever year
I can’t even imagine it not being there
Drunkards walk the streets with lit up faces
Dirty looks are thrown in the wrong place
All the friends and strangers warmly embrace
Why do we ever leave?
It’s amazing how two ugly people
Equal one beautiful kid
It just show’s that there’s hope
There’s no reason to hit your children
These parents are so undeserving
Maybe one day I’ll learn to cope
I can’t believe how many people here are raised right
I wish I could meet everyone attending
I hope to in my life
Records and shirts in arms
New tattoos on legs
There’s another house show
I heard they’ve got a keg
You won’t believe the bands that are playing
Or how they still manage to slay really fucked up
Looks like pizzas the only thing on this menu
And at 3am we can still order up
Got home to find my car in the shop
Driving my brother’s whose speaker turns off
The one thing I thought I could count on
Seems to have up and walked off
Or maybe it stayed in Gainesville
One part bad health
One part nervousness
Two things I need to fix
Like a double sided fist
It all moves in one direction
Either way you push
I need all the free drinks that were offered to me
I promise next year I’m drinking
I already miss all my international buddies
No one buys these books
They’re all just read and then left on the shelf
Creased edges
That seem to scream for help
I shouldn’t be surprised that she doesn’t write or call
I can’t remember a time that anyone did at all
If it wasn’t them calling back to cancel plans
Or something they needed or wanted
Alachua
Why can’t you stay this way all year?
I know that we’d all want to live there
But I wouldn’t wanna risk killing the Fest
It’s one weekend for a reason
Our bodies couldn’t handle it
It’s one weekend with a reason
The greatest in existence

Hell yeah. Good stuff.
And no excuses next year, dude. Legal age is practically an obligation.
So how do you pronounce 'Alachua'?

Cheers.
Random sidenote- a pub down the road from my old flat was called Uisge Beatha. My flatmate and I wasted entire evening debating its correct pronunciation, until my friend came over from Iowa and patiently explained not only the correct phraseology, but the translation ('Water of life', I believe).
Being owned on gaelic pronunciation by an American sucks

A few months ago, I laughed at someone's pronunciation, and my mother, who has been around the area a lot longer than any of us, explained that the COUNTY is "ah-latch-you-ah" but the CITY is "ah-latch-you-way"

I always wondered why the dude from the furniture commercial said it funny.
"Located in downtown, beautiful, A-LACH-OO-AY!

that commercial is exactly what I was laughing at. I haven't really watched TV in a few years, so I never saw it until this summer.

How both are pronounced depends on where you live really. Uh-lah-chew-ah for some, Al-a-chew-a for others.
IE - both of my parents are from Missouri. My father pronounces it Mis-ou-ree and my mother pronounces is Miz-urr-ah.

isn't there a town or part of Southern Missouri called Mizzourah? not sure of the spelling but similar to Orlampa or Texarkana.
as for Alachua....i swear the cop who pulled me over at Fest 4, and ended up taking my license and give me 3 tickets (for bogus reasons i had overturned in court), pronounced it A-la-coo-ahh

I'll take you up on this, I drank previous years, but I was sick and wasn't fuckin around this year, I'm hoping by next year I won't be sick and will be able to hang with everyone wasted, I'll be 21 in March so I'll have plenty of time to practice oh and thanks Mike!

Justin, is that your O-Face in your signature?
Might explain the absence of Fest sex...
