so last week I made a thread about it, which turned out to be a total let down.

http://www.noidearecords.com/Fest/board ... php?t=4442

this week I forgot all about it, then at 10:07, a friend called to tell me she saw me on TV. Only like 10 or 20 seconds, talking about potato skins.

I think they're gonna show this saem episode again at 1:00 AM, if anyone still cares. I don't have cable, but I'm debating going over to my grandad's house (he's out of town) to watch my 15 seconds of fame.

I think I was wearing a HWM shirt that day.

I was like, is that guy wearing a HWM shirt?

It was the rocking chair one right? hahaha

So weird.

haha, yeah, my friend said I was wearing a brown shirt. I have 5 brown t-shirts, and three of them are HWM shirts. don't think i ever wear the other two.

that day was also my birthday. I didn't meet Guy Firerairiaei, but the Food Network staff did buy me an Irish Car Bomb without even asking me. They asked a friend of mine what kind of drinks I like, then the next thing I knew, someone put it in my hand.

Then later that night I saw Black Mountain and Blood On The Wall. and earlier that day I went to the Sweetwater Brewery!

right before you said "bar food you don't expect much. but here they give you from scratch" did you say "hey director I'm ready for my close-up!". i don't think anyone else got that close of a headshot. the camera loves you!

damnit phillip just seeing that luscious beard and my favorite HWM shirt made my yearning for the Fest that much worse.

Atlanta is one of my favorite places. I've only been to a few shows there, but they were all really good ones. I already have a handful of friends who live there, and it seems like a friendly town. Good beer, cool record stores, comic shops, bars, art galleries, food, etc.

now I feel like listing bands I've seen in ATL

The Futureheads
Mastodon
Fucked Up
Black Mountain
Blood On The Wall
Gorilla Biscuits
would have seen The Ponys, but the show got cancelled

I feel like I'm forgetting a couple. Narrowly missed Lyrics Born and Crime In Stereo a couple times I was up there.

Atlanta also has the best burgers I've ever had, at a place called The Vortex.

I have a friend that almost every time we are driving somewhere I tell him that I'm really kidnapping him and we are driving to Atlanta
one day I'm actually going to do it. think about it, if someone did that to you how would you react? you don't want to try and take the wheel because you might crash, all you can really do is enjoy the ride (and laugh at all the gas money they are spending)

Atlanta local bands:

Zoroaster

and Steve & Juan of Torche now live there as well!

Edit - Oh and I saw Shellac play in that topless bar, what's the name of that place again? So bizarre. Steve Albini and 40 year old topless women all at once. Amazing!
