I think everyone in my theater collectively yelled out "what the fuck" when that happened, that was the scene that sold me that the rest of the movie would be awesome

I thought it was funny how the guy who played Spawn said he was going to kill a clown in an entirely different comic book movie.

i guarantee you the dialogue of that scene might very well become the next "i'm rick james, bitch" or like last year's "i drink your milkshake"
that reminds me just how quotable The Joker's lines are in this movie.
so as to not ruin it for any festers who haven't seen it yet i'll be vague but all i want to say to the people who have seen it is: besides the whole "pencil trick" the whole "nurse at the hospital" truly "put a smile on that face" of the whole audience!

Nevermind. I don't understand why that milkshake thing's funny to people.

i didn't really understand the humor from the milkshake thing either, i loved the ending of there will be blood and thought that scene wrapped up the movie perfectly. makes total sense to me
the ending to No Country for Old Men on the other hand, sucked

so I saw half, had a panic attack half way through and couldn't stick it out through the rest considering it was like 1am and I had work in the morning, now I'm afraid that I'll panic attacks during Fest and I really really don't want that shit, if I'm freaking the fuck out 1,000 miles from home it's going to be absolutely terrible, but then again if I get wasted I probably won't freak out

The ending to No Country for Old Men was pretty cool, but I read the book like the day after I saw the movie, and it helps flesh it out a lot. It's actually a pretty satisfying ending, I liked it before I read the book. It's just very deliberately unsatisfying, which is pleasing in a kind of arching context as it's some kind of realist-thing.
Can you tell I went to film school for a while?
But the milkshake thing from There Will Be Blood, while totally valid and completely un-funny in context, is fucking hysterical out of context, mostly because of Daniel Day-Lewis's mustache.

yeah I kinda wish I didn't have to take film classes and stuff for my production major, you can never really watch movies the same way again. I always find myself talking about how great the lighting was and the foreshadowing more than "that explosion kicked ass"
I think the problem was that I saw There Will Be Blood first and then watched No Country For Old Men 2 days later so I guess I wasn't prepared for the deliberate unsatisfying ending. If I watched it again in a couple months I would probably enjoy it more, they did do a great job of making it more of a realist movie which added to the suspense of it all, and in that aspect the ending makes sense. with There Will Be Blood at the end I was thinking "holy fuck that was incredible" for No Country I remember just thinking "wait, that's it...."

I hear you on that. When I went to school for professional writing all I can do most times when I'm reading is single out things like foreshadowing and the like. I do it to movies as well since they're not very different. Books with pictures.
