taken josh's replacement post a bit further. It seems like a good discussion. Like when someone at a party shoots you the stink eye when you tell them that you could give two shits about their favorite band.
here's a few of mine that tend to get my friends riled up
Bruce Springsteen
The Who
Guns and Roses

That's what the Internet is all about!
There's not really a lot that I can think of. Not off the top of my head, anyway. Occasionally something gets played too much and I start hating it, but yeah.

I've never liked the Beatles at all and they seem quite popular! Oasis can fuck right off as well!
Edit: I just re-read the thread title and Oasis don't count as I don't think any of my friends like them either!

Bruce Springsteen The Who Guns and Roses I didn't get Springsteen for the longest time. Then I heard "I'm Goin' Down" off "Born In The U.S.A." and I've been stoked on him ever since. My favorite album by him is "Nebraska" and I love "Darkness On The Edge of Town" and "Devils and Dust" as well. I was actually pretty stoked on "Radio Nowhere" off his new album "Magic". I still am really. I got into collecting his 7" singles, I have almost all of them aside from a rare few. Albums to avoid: "Tunnel Of Love", "Human Touch", "Lucky Town" Albums to check out that haven't been mentioned: "The Ghost of Tom Joad", "The River", and "Born To Run". I love me some Boss. I've gotten into quite a few drunken arguments with non-punk types about how The Clash are way better then the Beatles could ever hope to be. And people always look at me like I'm retarded.
Here's another one for me:
The Ergs!

I don't understand why our transatlantic brethren say "could care less" instead of "couldn't care less". Surely if you could care less, that means you do actually care at least some, which isn't what you're meaning at all? Whereas couldn't care less obviously means... well, what it says, which makes tons more sense. No?

It's not an American thing, it's just an ignorance of grammar thing.

Were you saving this for such a moment to where you could spring it on someone? I'm just amazed that you have it really.

Splendid graphic.
I've never seen / heard anyone that's not North American say it, though.

Here's another one for me:
The Ergs![/quote
I don't mind the Ergs but people talk about them like they're the best thing since sliced bread! I can take em or leave em to be honest. I'll probably try and watch them again at Fest though in case I'm missing something.

I've seen them by accident three times. And by that I mean they were playing with bands I came to see. And a lot of people are all about them. I love The Measure, but the Ergs! themselves just don't do anything for me.
