Let's just make this a Philly appreciation thread, haha.
i can join in with this. best city i've ever visited in the US. admittedly the only others i've been to are LA and pittsburgh, but still. favourite things about philly -
the first unitarian - great venue, saw converge there the same week as the kid dynamite reunion shows, some of my favourite ever shows
gianna's grille - i've only ever had one vegan cheesesteak, but i find it hard to believe anywhere does a better one
the rocky steps - c'mon, who hasn't done this? you, me and the atom bomb posted a video of them and north lincoln doing it thisweek and it made me want to go back
the amazing old guy we met near benjamin franklyn parkway who told us about all the marathons he'd run for charity, we gave him some 'donation' money, i bet it was all bullshit but he was such a nice guy we would given him the shirts off our backs. total dude.
going to some house in west philadelphia to see a documentary on feminist porn and laughing at all the wrong bits
the philly diner on something like 28th and spruce? i dunno, somewhere near upenn. probably not all that much compared to a lot of diners but it was the first one we went in and the waitress was unbelievably hot and thought we were from scandinavia. i guess nobody recognises northern english accents! i didn't even know you got free refills on coffee in the states, i could hardly contain myself
wawa - coming from the uk, being able to get drinkable coffee for hardly any money in a convenience store is a big novelty. i spent 10 days wired on their stuff, soon as i finished a cup i found the next branch and got another
being able to see camden, nj across the river and being glad there's a massive river seperating you from it
hmmm.... more random philadelphia memories when they come in, haha...
