To anybody who had the misfortune to go to Punk Rock karaoke at The Common Grounds on the Thursday before Fest and see me destroy (in a bad way!!!) AC/DC - For those about to Rock and also Andy Williams - Can't get my eyes off you.
For anyone who was there I sincerely apologise and promise not too sing next year - even though it was a great night and a brilliant way to start The Fest 7. Those of you who were there would have had the pleasure to see an altogether more accomplished performance from Frankie 'Leatherface' Stubbs which I have pictures of!! I can only hope I haven't killed karaoke in Gainesville! Andy |

Mikey was so wiped he was gonna do that and an acoustic show at the place I was staying, but if you saw their set it was like yeah okay dude you're fucking wiped

Nope. I went last week and have never seen more people there.  It was so smokey though I had to get eye drops and spend much of the night on the porch.

oddly enough right before reading this I just re-found the tapes from when High Voltage (the AC/DC cover band) played Fest 5

Man I missed them this year! As well as the Iron Maiden and Sabbath tribute bands.
Looks like Fest 8 will likely be on Halloween again next year. Really wish it wasn't. It is the only holiday I give a shit about and REALLY get into. And yeah, yeah I know "Fest is a holiday" but I'm too busy to really enjoy Halloween during the Fest.

Having Halloween on Fest is cool, but it does sort of ruin the usual multitude of October 31 cover shows that have been goin gon in Gville sinve the 90s. I was particularly fond of No More's Annual Misfits Cover Show.
